Thread: Using Vaghesh

I was just alerted to the above food, and how it can boost your harvesting bonus (I now have a crate of +28 Veghesh waiting to get gobbled up).
However, the person who was telling me about it seemed to think that if you had a harvesting droid, eating veghesh would increase what the droid collected too.
This really doesn't make sense to me, so would someone clarify this for me please? (and thus save me wasting some on doing tests).

The harvesting droid bases it's harvest on your harvesting mod. Therefore if you are doped up on Veghash, the droid uses the altered harvesting mod in conjunction with it's harvesting rating providing an even greter yield.

Yeah it ADDS to your base harvesting mods.
From what ive found, it gives a master ranger a measly 15% increase in harvest yeild.
Where as it gives a novice scout and master scout much greater percentage increases 
I still think veghash should of been made a percentage increase food. As in it enhances your skill doing something for a certain time. So master rangers would get 30% increases using veghash and master/novice scouts would also get 30% increase.

It seemed like I on vegash would harvest more then my harvest droid would when I was on the vegash.

I don't use my driod any more now that I am MASTER... takes 15 seconds to pull out... it gets agrod once and you have to go find it... it moves slower than the average snail when performing it's tasks... to me the added 5-10 units it can harvest are wasted on the time involved in using it... I just use my hash and that's about all I need for an addition to harvesting... I seldom even use my hash unless I anticipate a large haul from the lair...

I haven't tried Veghash but I emply a harvesting droid. He has a harvest rating of 107 and I find that he harvests a bit more thanI do as a Ranger with Tracking 4. The difference in amount harvested is not huge, but every 3 or 4 units he harvests off of each creature is that much less that I will have to hunt down to complete my order.
I like the droid because it allows me to harvest in dangerous areas because it is never attacked. I also like being able to continue wasting creatures while the droid harvests for me. Every second I spend harvesting is a second that my brandy is running out and is therefore precious to me.

Droids slow me down far too much
So i dont use em, i use hash alot but only when harvest high level creatures, otherwise its not worth the cost

Would I be correct in presuming that the pro-droid rangers are also riflemen, and the anti-droid rangers are melee fighters?

Not necessarly, I'm a Riflewoman, and I dont use a droid. I know that if I take out all the creatures hanging around outside the lair first, before harvesting, they wont dissapear right away. its when I'm in a group and someone starts to harvest while I'm still 60=m out thats when I may not get to the critter before its gone. So when in a group I ask all if they could wait to harvest till I start. When solo I have not had a problem with getting to the critters, harvest back off, hit the lair wait, take out spawn, harvest, repeat. This works for me.

Perhaps in some cases, but i for one am a rifleman. I find harvest droids far too slow and time consuming when i go organic hunting. Ive get a specific technique and routine i use and have done for a while now.
The only time that is wasted is getting from one lair to another, then once i get there, the routine kicks in and i have zero time wasting more or less, and there is definatly no time to call a droid, send it in to harvest and then store it after.

Both my ranger and my master doctor have droids. I used to use them both when we hunt together, but the down time involved to keep it pumped with batteries, it getting hit and taking off was more frustrating that it is worth.Lately I've just been going out alone and not using a droid. imagine when Sunrunner finally gets a good avian spawn, we'll both be back out there together, just to double the harvest. The doctor is on the secondary computer, and will prolly use the droid just for the ease of operating 2 puters at once. But Reeza will prolly not use the droid. As for Veghash, we both use it. I have some +31% stuff atm.

I'm a master rifleman master ranger, but I can't bring myself to use the harvesting droid - it just doesn't work with my vision of my Ranger.
No problems with those who do, but it's not for me.
Veghash I do use, got some 31ish% stuff which i think raises my yield by about 15%.
