What would be the differences between harvesting at Master Ranger, Ranger Hunting 4 (or whatever the extraction tier is), and hunting 4 in scout alone.

Hi there.
Dont know the excact numbers,but its not much of a difference I`m afraid.

Rangers 4 : Scout 2, a hearty effort by the scouts, but the rangers use of a HTFB to block the goal paid dividends

ill be testing this soon. Ive just made a toon on TC and hes well on his was to master scout. At level 4 hunting ill be doing lots of tests with him, then the same for master scout, novice ranger, and up to master ranger. hopefully this info will help at a later date.
However atm im having too much fun leveling up ranger.

On Creature Harvesting scoutn hunting 4 would give you +45. For master scout its +50.
For ranger tracking 4 its a total of 95, master ranger +100 (45 and 50 respectively for just ranger alone, so same as scout, but master scout of +50 is included of course).
Do not forget the ability to then track animals at a 1km diameter, for increased actual finding of what it is you want to harvest....
Essentially yes ranger should be twice as good. If it wasn't the profession is even more broken than we thought =P.

If I remember right the differance between master scout and Mater Ranger worked out to something like 30% more for the Ranger. Not a big differance untill you start pulling large stacks

Yeah ebb, but add that to the fact that master scout will be able to get another combat profession that (if he/she is smart) will be able to kill creatures much much faster.
Say if:
A master ranger + 1 Combat Professionbrings down1,000 animals at 100 units each = 100k units
A master scout + 2 Combat Professions brings down 1,000 animals at 70 units each = 70k units
This may look all good because we get 30k more, but when you take into account the amount of time that those players have taken to collect that amount, you should find that the master scout will have got his 70k units much much quicker than you go your 100k. Perhaps even 30% quicker than you and he decided to stay out until you finished, in that case he would of got atleast 100k units in the same time it took you.
All in all, if you compared the two over say an hour, the difference in total harvest yeild would be much less than 30% perhaps even against the ranger.
For a ranger to be more effective, the ranger needs to be a pro/experienced/dedicated hunter up against a prety inexperieced master scout hunter. If there are two very experienced hunters up against each other, one master ranger, other master scout then the ranger will more than likely come off worse.
