Hello to all my fellow rangers and aspiring rangers. I must say, this has been my farvorite thread out of all of them. But onto my problem. I am doing the Frontiering tree of Ranger and I must say, I am becomming disheartened. 5 hours and I am only 1/5 threw the second box. It is becomming increasingly irritating and aggrivating, especially when 20 pass your site and dont even run threw it, even if it is just outside the camp boundry. I have finished all the rest of Ranger, and all I have left is frontiering. But, it is becomming tedious and I am not sure if I want to even finish it out. I love this profession and tracker has been my favorite tag, and I really want to master this profession and give it my full attention. Any words of encouragement will help greatly, and any help anyone of you on Ahazi will also be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rangers.
Oh, on another note, I got my first , how shoul dI call it......BEG to help someone track an animal. she bugged me for an hour, I had to kep tellin gher no as politely as I copuld. I finally has to get nasty and just shine her on. Not my best moment, but she left me alone, but not after she calle dme a buncha names. It was rather interesting.

If that part of the tree is survival xp.. you know you get more xp crafting camps then using them. Get a few tools and sit in your camp and make camps =) Take a look at a few crafting macros to help you along. I rocked out the survival ranger part in less then 2 days. While running around and harvesting animals I hope that helps.

"One is defeated only when one accepts defeat" - Marshall Foch
Motivated yet ?

Keep going - it's worth it in the end, and don't rush .... let it happen in its own time. I'm doing the same thing at the moment, I just have a few crates of Field Bases in my backpack, and just set one up at the slightest provocation after finishing a mission, or when I need to send some emails etc.
I'm gradually gaining the xp, more or less as a side effect of doing other things in the game

I can offer you motivation or words of encouragement, but not both!
Seriously though, you can craft camps in practice mode (grind) to get much faster xp (you get wilderness srivival xp when you craft a camp). You need more resources, but you will blast through the levels in no time!

hehe, main need of some motivation myself, but I'll do my best here...
First off, you'll get through the Frontiering line. Just keep reminding yourself of that. Also, what's the rush?
It's not a race, it's just another box in a skilltree.
Second off, don't fixate on trying to complete each line of the tree in isolation. They might fill up 'faster' by doing that but you will hit one line that seems to drag and go on forever.
Third off, use your camp time constructively. Craft a few more camps and traps while you're sitting. You gain a little extra survival xp doing this. Catch up on your mail, chat with guild mates, plot the overthrow of the evil Empire / Rebel scum as appropriate.
Yep, people will scoot past your camp. Don't sweat it. Make the ones who do drop in feel welcome, say hi, ask about their profession, heal some wounds... Nothing worse than an AFK ranger, gawking off into the middle distance, floating in mid-air and not responding to a friendly 'hi there'
The more people you get in the camp the faster it will hit the max xp. (This limit varies depending on the type of camp, so you'll maybe need to experiment a little) HOw to get more folk in camp? Well, get in with a hunt group, you are a ranger after all, and pop a camp whenever you get a chance. After clearing a lair is good as you'll pick up a little bonus xp from visitors healing.
Sure, you might only get 50% of the max XP for that camp as you need to disband it to get on with the hunt, but that's another chunk to contribute to your journey. Two camps and you've got the same amount of XP in less time than sitting outside town on your all-alone, biting your nails and thinking 'oh frell, this takes forever...'
Finally, if your really are Johnny No Mates and can't get a buddy to come along and help out with a little camping while hunting, use a pet, use a droid, become CH and use both...
As for people sending persistent tells asking for you to hunt/track for them. Don't get into a slanging match,. It just puts your blood pressure up, creates a poor image of the profession and isn't worth the effort.
If a polite but firm 'No, sorry, I'm not interested in taking that contract' doesn't work and they still beg, /addignore is your friend. If, otoh, you're still listening to them beg after ten minutes , you're probably interested in taking the contract, so give in, go do it and earn some coin.

Well.. there is fishing. It might not seem like much, but once you get into it, it's like the SWG equivalent of tetris.
If you really just want to get through with frontiering, try making "sing-macroes" and lure people to your camp.
Tumbling is borderline exploits, but if you advertise that you will tumble in your camp, you might attract some docs to your lair. Healing boosts the experience gained.
Personally I preferred fishing. Next on my agenda is: Bigger bank safe deposits

easiest thing to do is find a friendly artisan, use their weapon/droid crafting tool and station to create a schematic (based on the resources you collected) and then hire out their factory for a day ...... or give them the schamtic and resources and let them runthe factory - will probably be easier than finding a ranger who sells these items in a shop I think.
