I am trying to play completely unbuffed. I want to do ranger but I need to know what else to put with it. Yes, I am playing unbuffed. What class will work best with this? Something that doesn't kill my HAM with specials. This will be entirely pve obviously and I will most likely have at least a non CH BE pet to do a little tanking for me. Melee or ranged doesn't matter, I have played both. With melee I can stand far enough away (5m I believe) so that thingsgo onme. I just want to know what will be best.

If you are going to play unbuffed I recommend TKA. With minibuffs, Force of Will and the ability to heal your own wounds, poisons, diseases, and bleeds will help immensely. With a good vibroknuckler my stats go down quick but with just my hands I still do decent damage and the ham cost is alot less. Just bulk up on food and drinks like Accagram(spelling?, brandy, ahrisa, muon and neutron pixie for emergencies. Coupling that with Ranger is a nice combo IMO.

TKM here. NEVER been buffed and do just fine with some good kinetic armor, some brandy and stim B's.

Same as above except I'm a master rifleman and you wouldn't even need armour, in fact wearing armourwould slowyou down! Rather than a tank, I use a harvesting droid so I don't have to leave my sniping position.

I do have armour, and it's all on my tool bar. So when I take aggro, a few F-keys later I'm all suited up.

Yep.. can only reiterate TKM as the top choice. Also, if you're a wookiee it only makes it better, the ham bonus, although not huge, can make all the difference when unbuffed and powerboost is invaluable. I hunt this way as a wookiee and dont have any problems.. of course i need my limited medic skills so its just ranger/tkm/medic for me... It may not be as efficient as being buffed but I can't always find a doc on my server (infinity

) so its kind of a forced playstyle which i actually enjoy.

Just to add: I don't wear armour when i'm hunting either, though i have it ready just in case things get hairy.

I honestly can't remember the last time I got all buffed up, I'm a Wookiee rifleman/Master Ranger. All I do is carry around a crate of brandy and I'm good, with conceal and conceal shot, I never have to worry about pullin aggro. I never get hit. save some very rare times, and for those time I have the wookiee bracers to soak up some damage and burst run up a mountain.

Never buff. Pistols and traps. No armor either. I do have novice medic on board to self-heal.

The right set of BE clothes helps too.

Thanks for all the feedback, this forum is so much nicer than the brawler forum that told me basically I was a fool and I had to play buffed. Thanks for the advice.
