If you want to play the New Ranger, I'd grind now and get it over with. You can always drop theskills later if you don't like it.

Predictions are hard to make, especially about the future (my new mantra). The new Ranger will either be better or worse than it is now, and it will either be easier or harder to level than it is now.

There isn't much reason for me to drop Ranger right now. I'd probably grind it up now if they are going to allow a respec to the new requirements if you're already a Master Ranger.

Iconic professions. Ok. Chewbacca was a Scout. How come that didn't stay?

When you think about it, aren't almost all of the original professions iconic? You can find something on each of them in the Expanded Universe.

I miss being a Ranger. It was more than a profession, it was a virtual way of life. It wasn't for everyone. But those who took it up became family.

the short answer is i really dont know.

ranger will be a very different profession after the revamp, and while it will retain some of the dependance of tactics over power, there is no way to know right now if it will be something that you would have fun playing with.

im adopting a "wait and see" approach... but i have gut feeling that im gonna enjoy it.

As most have said already in this thread, I am also taking a wait and see approach. I had been gone for quite awhile and came back to alot of changes. First thing to happen was being locked in place because I had to many SP and had to remove some, next was completely boching my respec, and completely losing all my sp. I have since then been working back to my old template as Master Rifles / Master Rangerette.

I will also wait and see what happens
