If ONLY it were that simple,

Meat, like hide, bone, steel, copper, and other resources exists on a shifting basis. Randomly - without any predetermined reason - it shifts. One week Avian Meat might be great stuff on Corellia, the next it might be garbage.

Similarly herbivore might be great on monday, and bad on wednesday.

You see there isn't one "best" meat, rather every so often something else becomes good or better.

There's also an issue where some professions use one type of meat while others use another type. As a result there might be two good meats spawning at any given time.

If you're looking to make an investment in a resource your best option is to watch the Trade forum of your server. Keep an eye out for crafters looking for meat, hide, or bone and see what they want (and how much). Then its just a case of hunting it down and seeing what's best.

You can also use resources like SWGCreatures to find the appropriate animal to hunt or SWGCraft to see what might be spawning at any given time. (SWGCraft is tough only because some servers aren't as dilligent at updating the site as others).

I also recommend asking around with other Rangers and seeing what their hunting on your server. It'll give you a good sense of where to get started.

General idea:

• Check your Trade forum for specific requests


• Offer your services for hire on your Trade forum - let the crafter do the legwork to figure out what's best and then hunt from there


• See if your server has a Ranger Chat Channel setup and ask other Rangers what they're hunting to see if you can get in on the hunting

Just to check, did you by chance mean SWGcraft instead of SWGResources? I've never really bothered hunting resources for hire so I'm not sure but I've always been under the impression that SWGCraft was where people went.
