Note: By Novice elite weapon, I mean at least novice in an elite weapon profession. If you go ranged, Ranged support isn't really necessary, you have traps to keep creatures at a distance, and the only other thing you get from ranged support is all the tumbles and 'aim' (if you're a rifleman this might be handy).
Ok, I'll start with the easy one..
Master Ranger
Master Creature Handler
Weapon specialist (4 skills in a weapon under Novice Marksman/Novice Brawler)
Novice Artisan
You get pets... Think Uncle Ben... no, not Ben Kenobi, the guy with the pet bear that lives in a cabin in the mountains. Ok, this is probably gonna be one of the more common ones, but it isn't a bad combo.
Master Ranger
Novice Artisan, Survey 1-2, Domestic arts 4
Chef + some skills
Weapon Specialty + some skills
You can kill it and cook it. Surveying is handy for digging up grains and such and setting up harvesters if you wanna get lots of fruits, nuts and berries.
Master Ranger
Novice Artisan, Survey 1-3, Domestic Arts 1-3
Weapon Specialty + some skills
Novice Creature handler + tier 2 across the board
This setup has alot of flexibility and is solo friendly. Surveying lets you be the ultimate survivalist, you can dig up the metal and polymer you need for the tools of the trade, you can make some decent food, you can have some pets, and you're not bad with a weapon.
Master Ranger
Master Rifleman
The ultimate huntsman. You can take down the big game with one shot to the head.
This isn't intended to be a min-maxing guide.. its just to give people an idea of what they can do with the 111

(silly forums)
.. 111 skill points you have after Mastering Ranger. I suggest novice artisan in any case, being able to dig up the metal and polymer you need fits with the solo survivalist. You can always go into town for your monthly supply run and pickup a few thousand units of metal and polymer, but being able to 'improvise' in the field is much more satisfying.
