Thread: It works for Terrain Negotiation.

0-50 Terrain Negotiation determines your speed when running over uneven terrain.
50-100 determines your crawl speed.

Now, how about that Creature To-Hit Bonus? Currently, it only affects base RANGED weaponry, and that leaves our poor Brawler friends in the dust. Since Rangers get this twice (atleast, I believe), why can't it start affecting Melee To-Hit on Creatures at 20-30?

Not something for the Scouts, but us lonely Rangers. I'm a Carbineer myself, so it wouldn't help ME, but I'm sure there's more than a few Ranger/Brawlers on this board that'd love to see it.

Stop crying. I'd give you those stupid to-hit points. I'd probably still miss as much when running with my rifle out anyway. Those points suck.

This is an ongoing problem that will be addressed in Mineras' next Top 5 Issues submission. I too would like to see the brawlers get the same bonus. Looks like you did your homework and figured that one out. Good job

As for you, Mr. Smartypants:

What's the point of making a response like that?

First of all, he's not even a brawler, as stated in his message. Second, those to-hit points are worthless. Third, if he was offended by such a mild comment, then I'd apologize. And fourth, you people are way too sensitive. Further remarks about this would result in some of you peeing your pants, so I'll refrain.

Upset people should be muted. Ask the devs for that one. I understand his post completely. You have nothing valuable to say about that though, you'd just like to insult me and wrap it up like a burrito in a soft-shell layer of "I make sense," but you don't. The post mentions that he thinks the to-hit bonuses should apply to brawlers, but I say the to-hit points are worthless. They have never made me more accurate while running than when I only had novice marksman. When I'm prone, what do I care if I get a couple extra to-hit points? I can fire off three good shots before a mob ever even notices I'm there and the chance that I miss when using /aim is hardly decreased with the to-hit bonuses.

If you want to try to get something added, at least let it be something useful. Just because one skill would seem to give advantage to one class of fighter doesn't mean it gives any advantage in real life. Get rid of the to-hit garbage and give us something useful for combat. You can continue arguing the usefulness of that skill mod though. I don't mind. If brawlers get it or not, it's not going to be much of an impact.

You ever think that maybe brawlers might need it because they don't have a command like /aim.

Ok, so then where does that leave the marksman??????? You just don't understand. The skill mod sucks. Period, end of story. It's a worthless attempt at making us more adept animal hunters when it really doesn't provide anything useful. So, why even keep it? Argue for something better, not these scraps. "Hey, don't mess with that ranger...he's got elite to-hit bonuses"...don't hold your breath waiting for that line.

okay umm...They may suck..but since i have to get REALLLY close to an enemy i would rather the possiblity of 1 more hit(rather then a miss) in a large battle with a high HAM creature......and later on im sure useless skill mods will be fixed making this more useful.

Even if it doesnt even work at all irght now i would be happier knowing i had it for later.

I still think the idea I proposed would be more useful. Initially I had no clue what the to-hit bonus was (that must show how useless it is if I couldn't even tell what it did). Someone told me, but before then I always thought that maybe it would give me a higher chance of hitting the weakest bar of the animal's ham with normal (non-special) ranged attacks. Not a guarantee, but if my first overcharge hits for a quarter of the creature's action pool, the chance of me hitting the action pool with normal ranged attacks would be higher than with me hitting any other pool. Thus, being useful.

I think I've gotten somewhat good at killing animals with a large HAM. I can solo 9k ham creatures without breaking much of a sweat. But even now at master ranger, I've never really noticed a major advantage at taking down animals than when I was a master scout. It was only my rifle skills that made things easier. So, once again...go ahead and give to-hit points to brawlers, but give us marksman something that's actually worth something.
