If someone would be so kind as to help me out, I am not an artisan, and can't figure out how to experiment.

I read you need to be at crafting station, have tried several differnet ones and I can never get any window that asks me to experiment, nor do i have any idea what I am looking for. I do see the typical window that says I can 9% experiment but nothing else.

What skill do I need?

What crafting Station?

What tools?

Please help me out here

1. You need artisan experience, the more you have, the more you can experiment

2. Be next to the correct public machine

3. Have a specific crafting machine, such as a weapons, droids and general. The general craft tool does not work at all.

4. If you did 1-3, you can experiment. Of course, matters not if you want to experiment on camps or traps, doesn't do squat to em.

2-0-0-0 in artisan, I was 3-0-0-2, screw cooking and that crap

SO i need to be an artisan to experiment on camo kits??? That is the stupidest thing i have ever heard. An artisan can't even make them only a ranger. SO i have to waste points in artisan to get a decnt number of camo's - well screw that.

So all you master rangers are also artisans???

ranger crafting in a few quick explination

1) you need a wepons, droid, and general crafting

2) you need to be standing by or close to a personal/or public wepon, droid, and general crafting STATION.

when you open up your crafting tool, it will be normal as usual. You will input the materials as normal, and click ok as normal. After you combine the item, IF you are standing close to a wepon, droid, and general crafting station, you will be given the option to "create item", "create schematic", or "experiment on item".

If you choose to experiment you will be taken to a new screen that shows points you have to experiment, and a place to put those experimentation points in. Experiment as you wish ( wether you do one point at a time or try and max it out each time, if all experiments are "a great sucess" you will eventualy get to the same % either way.

After your done experimenting, you will be taken back to the menu of "create item", "create schematic", Creating the item does just that.

Create schematic takes you to a new window, where you can choose how many you want to make the schematic quantity for, and places it into your data pad when you compleat this window. (the schematic is used for factories.. say you make a schematic for 5 items that take 5x and 5y materials. You would put the schematic in the factory, and put in the said materials 5 x 5x (25x)and 5 x 5y.(25y) and tell the factory to produce it. This is over simplified, but its the general idea on how to run a factory.

mabe that gives you a little insite.

0 artisan points are needed for the making of ranger stuff.

all the experimentation points come from the ranger tree (mabe some scouting?) and have nothing to do with the artisan tree.

sorry i forgot to finish a thought above...

the item you need to make this stuff is the weapon, droid, and general Item crafting TOOL

ok, i had a general crafting tool, ok now it works, but what a piece of crap.

I applied a naboo camo standing at the bank in theed. ran 10 steps in town and was detected. with my radar on 128m there was not 1 yellow or red dot around me.

Maskscent works great, i can crawl past red mobs or run past lower level reds and get lots of xp and not get it broken.

You only get the experiment points for camo kits. for traps and tents you only have one, but there is nothing to experiment on them.

As said, i have 8 points and only have novice artisan.

Is experimentation on camo kits possible using the crafting stations in either the Field Base, or High Tech Base Kits?

To re-itterate because some don't want to read a thread:

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE AN ARTISAN (nothing that an artisan has will help you. it does not use the same points)

YOU GET POINTS IN ONE OF THE BRANCHES (probably trapping I didn't get that part. I made a Naboo Camo last night and had 11 points to get more than 5)

YOU NEED THE "WEAPON, DROID,AND GENERAL ITEM CRAFTING TOOL (everything scouts and rangers make are general items)

MAKE SURE YOU ARE STANDING NEAR A PUBLIC/PRIVATE "WEAPON, DROID, AND GENERAL ITEM CRAFTING STATION (they are in just about every town and in the Hi Tech Field Base)

Check the quality of the stuff that you are using and you will have a better chance at it coming out better. I hope I hit all the high points, AGAIN.

Oh, one more thing, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE AN ARTISAN!!
