I have -5000 faction towards the Kunga on Dantooine. As it is right now, I don't have to be very close at all for an entire Kunga tribe to spot me and kill me.There is now way to reverse that now.

Would a Camo Kit help me not get noticed so easily by these NPCs? I'm trying to decide whether to learn next:Tracking 3 (50k XP) or Wayfaring 1-3 (50k cummulative XP).

At the moment there are several errors regarding /conceal and humanoid npcs.

  • So... Camo kits would not help you.

However...

  • Once all the wrinkles get worked out of the implementation, /conceal should help you evade those npcs, just not right now.

Yanno, I keep hearing that camo does not work against NPCs. It works fine for me, and I am -5000 Imperial (being a good rebel and all) and I can be overt or tef'd, camo, and walk right past Imps like they were my long lost cousins. I mean literally, no reaction, and they are red aggro.

Could it be my sparkling wit and demeanor... guess not, but something is working for me. Mayhaps its my mojo, lol.

I really really really want the /wedgie command for Rangers only... can you imagine the graphic??

As long as you are covert, Imperial/Rebal faction has no effect, even at -5000. I had an Imperial destory mission to remove a small rebel camp but just as I got there a bunch of Shaupauts jumped me, woe is my surprise when the rebel NPC's assisted me by attacking the Shaupauts, not only that but the rebel medic ran over and healed me! (me being a covert Imperial with -5000 rebel fp). After that I could not bring myself to destroy the camp so I just aborted the mission, who knows, maybe they saw the light and gave up their evil ways of bloodshed and violence

Other factions will however attack you on sight if you are at -5000. /conceal (camo kits) can help against this but it's not reliable enough (even at master ranger) to not have to worry about anymore.

NRaas:

On the way back from a Krayt Hunt tonightI used my camo kit for the first time (Wayfaring 4 already and this was the first). Thought I would try it to getaround some Tuskens (-5000 faction) and ..... it worked, walked right through their camp unseen. Before I tried /conceal tuskens regularly aggro'd me at ridiculous ranges.

I now need to go out and do some more experimenting. /conceal just got a new lease on life in my book.

Thanks for all the great work for the Rangers!

"it worked, walked right through their camp unseen."

Yes... It will work on occassion, but do not rely on it working all the time.

Camo has been working great for me lately. NPC and Creature.
The problem for me occurs when I group with someone.
I will camo everyone and Im the one that gets detected nearly
everytime!

That is a bad thing on Dathomir... trust me...
They took the Aggro Throttle to max power there!

My map looks like a case of the chicken pox! woo!

You don't happen to stand out in the front of the group, nearest to the aggros?

  • That is where I would be, being a Ranger and all... But it also lends itself to being revealed more often.

I walked throught out the Warren on dantooine, concealed, I had to re-apply my camo a couple of times, but never got into combat. When I was noticed i ran to another room until i could re-apply the camo. worked great there.

i admitt I have not tryed it in other advanced planets, seems to work most of the time on Corellia, Tatooine, and Talus though.
