Thread: Is tracking IV worth it?
Anyone ever use it to hunt force sensitives or krayt dragons? if so, how did it work out?
I would have to say yes.
This comes in handy for tracking IMPs. I use it to track a group of known IMPs, and I stay well out of range and keep tabs on them. As soon as I can see that one of them split off from the group, I move in for the kill because I already know that they are TEF.
This is great fun and actually gives the feeling of being somewhat of a Ranger.
I also comes in handy for when I bleed them and they run, I can stand back and keep track of how far and what distance they are from me. ![]()
If your not into PVP then you have to decide the value add.
If you care about factions and pvp and all, it's definitely worth it. Me, I'm staying neutral and have no iterest on taking either side. So, I do have it, but only for the creature harvestingabilities...I've never actually tracked a PC and have no iterest to unless we're playing hide seek or something (which I'm sure would never happen).

Personally, I prefer having 90 + to my harvesting ability with Tracking IV. Yeah, I know... that extra 1 or 2 resources per kill may not seem very large, but over time - it can really make a difference.
As far as Tracking goes.. I like that idea of hunting/ tracking known Imps. I will use that in the future ![]()
It's the one skill I have actually used in P vs P from the Ranger tree. I used it to track down an enemy guild member who i saw split of from the battle. He was parked on top of a hill Healing up a couple hundred meters from where we were.
I was also jumped in a town yesterday, while selecting a couple hunting missions, by a Bounty Hunter from the same enemy guild. As soon as I cloned I used tracking to find him. We had a pretty good fight after that. Traded incap for incap 3 times each. Also 1 death each.
So over all Tracking is good. It will be much better If they make it a bit easier to use. Such as giving you a waypoint or compass that points you in the right direction. I also wish the range was a bit further.
To be fair, I'm not sure if the differences I noticed had to do with Track III, a possible patch to Dantooine, more people in the area spawning stuff, or what. But I was finding plenty a number of Graul & Mauler packs that previously at Track II, I'd spend hours never to see 1.
The increased harvests is real nice as well, even though I believe I can make more money running missions, I still like to gather & sell as something different to do.

right now im at tracking III and almost at tracking IV. I was wondering if it is worth it to keep this line. I originally wanted it so I could track force sensitive NPC's and maybe krayt dragons or kimos but never really thought about it for PvP. Ive already come across the problem that lots of things dont spawn until about 50-100 m away, in which case tracking is pretty useless. I definately think its really cool but is it worth it? if i drop it i can get novice medic which, right now, seems like a bit better option.

I would say so.. especially if you're looking for someone in a group.
Tracking is an awesome skill, at all levels, have all my ch buddies asking were all the babies are.
Explorer missions are so much easier,
Certain NPC's you can avoid or hunt down
And the player function is awesome, I use it as a warning for my guildies when they a pvp.
It's a nice heads up, and a great tool if used properly, I use it all the time
Oh, Tracking IV is most deffinitely worth it
I use it all the time when we're expecting an attack on our factional bases, since it helps you know what direction they're coming from and all... Also useful in towns to know where an overt might be, etc etc.
I'm going to have to drop it eventually to master Commando, but I'll work back up to it, likely.
