Thread: whats the best source for wooly and scaley hide?
I'm currently overflowing in leathery hide, been doing group missions with kams and rancors on dath, and solo'ing giant baz nitches when armored and buffed and I now have piles of leathery hide.
But the wooly and scaley hides are always in short supply and I figured this would be the best place to ask about what planet/creature would be best for solo'ing for wooly and scaley. 70% ubese, and doctor buffs would be how I solo, so I'm looking for something giant baznitchis difficulty with no poison or disease attacks which yeilds a fair amount of hide, and can be gotten as a mission.
Dunno if such a thing exists

Wooly -
Corellia: durnis, other small stuff that won't drop much
Dantooine: thunes, hurrtons (high level huurton missions usually yield a good amount)
Dathomir: no idea, never hunted for wooly on Dath
Endor: gurrecks (hilltop gurreck hunters are good, you can also pull gurreck missions)
Lok: only real thing is langlatches
Naboo: gualamas
Rori: gualamas, tortons
Talus: no idea, probably some low level stuff
Tatooine: banthas banthas and more banthas
Yavin IV: mamiens!
Scaley -
Corellia: sharnaffs (I think you can get missions for them)
Dantooine: pikets (good resists but mostly just hyped up bolle bols)
Dathomir: shear mites, gaping spiders/gaping spider variants (watch out, both these have disease/poison)
Endor: mereks (some have poisons, TMB's and delirous merek avengers don't)
Lok: I think langlatches drop it, I have no idea though
Naboo: spineflaps or low level mobs
Rori: spineflaps, mites (some mites have disease)
Talus: dalyrakes
Tatooine: giant sand beetles
Yavin IV: klikniks/kliknik variants, crystal snakes
My 3 best sources for wooly:
1- Yavin Mamiens. Very easy with Camo kits, mission spawn about 300m from base, and in addition to grabbing hide, you can loot mamien for some occasional 25 units of wild meat stacks.
2- Dantooine Hurtons: Very easy too, good payoff, like 7k a mission.
3- Tatooine Banthas: From Mos Taike, mission terminal include Bantha lairs.
Great thanks for the info. I tried hunting yavin today, killing snakes and klikniks for scaley. The snakes are good I find, I can kill em fairly easy without getting ground down, but the klikniks with their 3 spawn at a time deal, slowly ground my mind away each time incapping me. Klikniks are out till I advance a little further in pistol I think .
Mamiens! lol, I used to hunt them back early days with a buddy, a ton of em, don't recall if we even harvested back then tho. I'll have to give them a try for the wooly .
My favorite places are Yavin and Tat. I usually work from Mos Entha when I'm on Tat and take Bull Bantha missions. As a Ranger I usually get around 400-500 per lair. When I'm on Yavin I work out of the labor outpost and take mamien missions. These things practically roll over and just give you their hide. Plus Yavin wooly is worth a pretty penny to Armorsmiths...they need it for padded armor and need it reguardless of the stats.
And the most wonderful thing about hunting both of these critters: no disease and no poisoning =).
