So the guy puts his hand over his eyes to shield himself from the sun, and all of a sudden he can see things 500 meters away? No no.. you can't get the same result by doing what I'm doing.. I'm a ranger you see... so I .. ehh.. hmmm..

Seems like he should crouch down and examine the ground for foot prints or broken twigs or something

I realise this is definetly not going to be at the topof any devs to do list anytime this century.. but I figured I'd throw my two cents in.

I would ace more squadrons if they'd just fix the remaster bug.

Is no kinda about it, it's very dumb. About as bad as forage, where I use a pistol barrel (like I would do this, I love exploding barrels) to scratch at the ground, seeking nuts and berries, or onions.

Crouch, or kneel would be better. As it is, when I do it, and someone asks me what the heck I am doing, I tell em looking for Indians, it's quiet, too quiet. Or I say it's a rasp check.

We gotta get a better amination. Tho not the gay NPC dance.

Well yes it works, but it shouldn't make me laugh.... or others.. .. because you know, they're defiently laughing at you and not with you

It would be cool if he knelt on one knee and examine for tracks. And if you're were in a certain distance of a tree that he would examine for broken branches.

yes, the animation could be better. For looks purposes the forage animation would look better, but then people would think you are stopping to forage. When we first got the skill there was no animation, in case you weren't around then.

Back then I had a macro setup that had me say. "Tracking, please wait....". so people knew why I was stopping when we were hunting. With the added animation I took that out. They know what Im doing now.

He/she should pull out bonoculars when using the track animation.

A nice little Aragorn move would be cool - walk a short distance, stoop, walk another short distance, stoop. But it's all pie in the sky.

I just got player track today and that's pretty neat!

"So the guy puts his hand over his eyes to shield himself from the sun, and all of a sudden he can see things 500 meters away?"

Ah... You're going to hurt the Art departments feelings...

  • I am sure they spent many a sleepless night animating that action, and now you go and say you don't like it.

I think I should sic Ood_Bnar on you ungrateful slugs.

Just remember, with the current animation, we have a chance in getting /areatrack to work while mounted...

  • Whereas a "ground searching" animation would not flow properly in that regards.

Damnit, there you go making a good point. If you can get area track to work while mounted then I'm willing to forget all about the animation.
