I was thinking about the Mounted Fighting idea as I went through my screenshots today. Here are a few shots I found of me and Smoogle (wince):
Fighting with 'Caster
Fighting with T21
Oh, and this is Me (the true Ranger me) if anyone is curious.

Damn, I can't access imagedump at work.
Too many naked people. I like the name Hendrix though. For some reason I picture him as a cat, even though I know he must be a mount.
EDIT: Okay I saw it. That is a great shot! And the name fits him perfectly!

What im doing now even as a pistoleer and master CH is that i have my light 59 kinectic gurreck go in and attack. While im mounted on my Wasteland Cu'pa staying back. I dont even need to dismount as i will just send my harvester droid in. Works really nice.

Your to hit is still based as if you weren't mounted. So you basically use the same strategies you would use standing with your weapon. By big thing as a pistoleer is to keep moving to become less of a target. Take advantage of your mounts speed when your the target. The downside is that your controlling your mount with your arrow kills and targeting with your mouse. So it gets confusing and you lose sight of your target sometimes. And remember in really bad circumstances /gallop will take you out of battle really fast if you can peace.
Thats just my simple one. Im sure the guys who have really done their homework will have a better answer
