We may still be in desperate need of a revamp, but after being a ranger for a year and counting, I try to look on the positive side. We do at least have a few perks:
- We can travel to any city faster than any other profession in the game. All we have to do is shoot something, and 10 seconds later, woohoo, you're stepping out of the local cloning center.
- You get bowed to a lot. I'm not sure if its out of sympathy or admiration, but the Master Ranger tag tends to get you a lot of double takes and bows.
- You can become a legend, and not just in your own mind! Many a time I've heard tales of the mythical rangers on my server.
- Our camps are great for dates! Nothing better than setting up one of our ranger camps in a nice quiet location. It has a nice atmosphere to it.
- You can role play being crazy really easy. You hardly have to do anything at all!
- You can charge a lot to track stuff. I mean, when there are 10 otherrangers on your server, its not like they are going to find another Ranger unless they have tracking themselves.
- It kindles the imagination within us. We may not have much...but dag nabbit, we can dream

We tend to get treated with alot of respect from other professions. Doc's are generally nicer to me when in line for buffs than other people. Once I got a free buff from a doc for being a Master Ranger.
On the Other Hand I hate tracking creatures/people for other people I don't know. Every 2.5 seconds i'll get a tell or a message saying did you see one yet? How bout now, any luck? That happened when hunting kryats. I finally told the guy that when i'd see one i'd say something, it's not like I can take the thing on by myself. Now don't send another message asking me if I found one. So I might have ruined our image with that one, but I was tired and grouchy from not being able to find one.

You should tell them their constant pestering is scaring away the Krayts.
Oh. And I love the point about finding those other pesky Rangers.

Another perk...
Since so many skill points tied up in Ranger, no internal debate on if I should be a master CH/BH, BH/Pistoleer, etc! Ahh Bliss...
