Here is the story because the thread was deleted:

NOTE: this post is to warn other players/community about the abusive /autofollow command and how you will recieve a harassment mark on your account for using it. i have used it and now i must repent /tear.

Back Story: I am currently passivly hologrinding. My current profession is Ranger. I've got all the lines up besides trapping. I'd been following random groups out to endor and throwing traps at the creatures they were killing for trapping xp (not shooting or disrupting the groups in any way). they didnt seem to mind we were helping eachother out. (traps inhibit other players xp or ability to kill in any way, they infact make the monsters easier to kill). then on one trip out this newbish fencer starts saying "stop ks'ing me" and i replied "ok", because, well, i wasnt ksing him in any way so problem solved right? i was in no way being mean to him or saying anything mean beyond my refusal to stop throwing traps and following him. so he starts freaking out and saying "stop following me" ect. ect. eventually (about 15 min from the time i started getting xp from trapping) my group got back on endor and i was able to join up w/ them and trap off them.

3 hours later: i recieve an email from someone named "timv" no csr tag but they claimed to be a csr in the email. it was about "harassing" this person when i was throwing traps at his monsters. with no csr tag on the mail i reply to the guy telling him where he can stick it, and in turn forward the mail to several other known csr's reporting this "timv" for impersonating a csr.

half an hour later i get a tell from csr-preston here and the rest is self explanitory. bottom line... this is what to expect when dealing with csr's... plus you can report anyone you dont want following you around for harassment at any time. hey jedi..... start opening tickets on those pesky bh's!.

poor csr preston... as you will soon see he didnt know what he was really getting into, and didnt wish to open this can of worms and handed me off to the real toolshed responsible.

Ranger Calc here: In all honesty, following a group without their permission is a bit much. I am sure that if you ask a group, and tell them your intentions, someone will allow you to join up. I do think people are too quick to report someone, butI also think some people don't know when they have gone too far.

i'd have to agree i always asked for invites on dath. rancor groups and warned them ahead of time "im only gonna be throwing traps unless i get aggro'd

sometimes people liked this cool ups our group rating yet more xp i like

other times people said "you are worthless and wouldnt help at all" as is the function of traps so i wouldnt press the issue but find another group

i agree calc i think following and trapping although harmless was a bit rude i'd recommend the above rancors especially enraged were good xp and you wont get into a fuss with people and the such

LMAO....."CSR Numbnuts"? although I am still laughing quite hard (You have a tough set of marbles bro) I wouldnt have gotten into a pissing contest with a CSR. They dont know you from Adam and are only trying to keep the peace and protect the younger kids with the harrassment and language thing. Cant beat a guy up for doing his job. It was hilarious though.

As far as the harrassment thing, I would ask a group first and then if they dont want you around, find someone else......or go at it solo.....you can also do a search for any Master Rangers or Scouts that are around and join up with them...you can train each other and help each other out. If a group doesnt want you around...its really their loss.

Keep the faith bro.

When people log in as their Jedi character or engage in faction related battles they're making the choice to participate with other individuals. By logging in to solo some Rancors for xp all they really want to do is solo. Sometimes I sign in to escape, and I don't want to do anything except drop a few critters and enjoy some peace and quiet.

To assume that you can just run in and bother someone who doesn't want your help or company is harrasment. Especially if that person is not having as much fun as they would like. You impeded his fun by having your own.

Why is this in the Ranger board?
