Thread: The Best way to get through TRAPPING is.....
Trapping is not hard. Throw multiple traps at all targets. All targets. You are going to a mission, walk in, trap stuff like durni and gubbers and kreetles on the way. Trap trap trap trap and trap.
I use traps every time I hunt game. A habit. Maxed trapping first in Scout and in Ranger. I love pdarts and glow wire. They save my butt.
Of course, still on strike. Did FP missions with a group, which turned into, if it moves, shoot it... still fun. No harvesting, but did loot a cool dlt20 that I can't use.

The 3 best methods i know of:
Method 1:
If you are a ranged fighter unequip your weapon get armoured, buffed and fed and head to dant to find voritors.
The jungle/jundaland (havnt been to dant since i moved from there) and just stand and spam wire mesh.
If you have good armour you caneasy tank these all the way up the tier (however poisons make it difficult now). Wire mesh are pure grinding traps that suprisingly(from my own experiences and testing) have a higher hit rate than any other trap. They are very cheep and aslong as you can take it, spamable all day.
Method 2: (My favourite)
Find a medium to high level creature perhaps even a boss (preferably a non poison attack boss) that you can take hits from. Attack the creature as normal untilone ham bargets very low. From past hunts you will have experienced animals trying to run/fly from you when they reach a very low ham. Use this to your advantage.
Wait until the creature gets super low ham, then put your weapon away (works best with ranged) and peace. Let the creature run off whilst you spam your wire mesh. You will be able to get a good few traps thrown before the beast heads back to you. Ifyou canfind a slowish creature this method works best. Eventually (im not sure if this is a bug) you willfind a beast that chooses to walk when it has super low ham, still trying to attack you BUT in walk mode, clearly unable to strike you as you slowly kite it.
If i get a lair i can getatleast one ifnot the majority to bug like this so its just trial and error realy. Once its walking slow, spam all day keeping your distance (and makesure you dont hit the animal by accident so put yourweapon away and keepit away).
I recently had to surrender master and trap tier to get novice merchent for my ranger/scout shop vendors so its not asif i didnt use this technique recently. WIth a ranger friend as a trainer bot i managed to level thefull ranger tree on just 4 giant sand beatles and very very quickly. I could have picked alot higher difficulty than the beatles howeveri have found i get the best results with those. If you want to gain survival xp, you could craft the meshes yourself however i just took some stock from my shop, a large set of 25 mesh crates.
Method 3:
Simply use phaescene dart to slow the beast, then spam other non damage traps then when it moves again spam a phaescent of

I like using Warning Shot to bounce them off of me, then hitting them with a P dart to slow them down and then commensing with the trap hits. They're walking slow mo in the opposite direction. By the time they turn around, you're hit them with so many status effects, that you'll survive long enough to bounce them back off you again. I blew through trapping in no time doing this, and it's fun to watch. ![]()
If you're good, you can bounce multiple enemies off you while tossing traps left and right.
