Thread: Fast Harvesting

Well it only took me close to 6 months but I found a harvesting system that works (at least for me)

Create 3 macros:

/harvest bone

/harvest hide

/harvest meat

Go to options, then controls.

Hit custom, and add each macro to a not often used key. (num pad works great for me since I never change the camera)

Warning...all your characters will change share the same keymapping.

Now I off to assign a few keys for /mount /dismount /store

Excellent advice Ehope

shift-F12 is my /harvest meat key.

The difference is even greater when you are on a laggy planet.

Very good tip, funny I'll bet alot of people (well maybe just me) never thought to remap parts of the key board.

Here is a dumb question:

How do you assign a macro (/harvest hide;/loot all) to a keyboard.... I have yet to figure this out. any help would be appreciated.

It's on the options page under controls. Should be a button to customize controls and a tab for macros if I remember correctly.

I believe there is a button on the bottom of the controls page that says 'keyboard.' That is where you can assign macros to keys (it is actually under the 'custom' tab once you get there). It is in the same place that you assign a key to copy and paste, but under a different tab. I even made a macro for maskscent that I bound to a key. My favorite is my macro for mounting my vehicles and pet. It goes like this:

  • /maskscent;

  • /mount av-21;

  • /mount speederbike;

  • /mount x34;

  • /mount (Fred);

I bound this to ctrl+b. I also have a dismount command that is:

  • /dismount;

  • /tellpet stay;

This is bound to ctrl+n. I use the stay command becuase my mount is purely transportationand I don't like it following me around.

To get back on topic, I use the /harvest, /lot macro for all three types of harvestables and bound them to ctrl+q for hide, ctrl-w for bone, and ctrl+e for meat. I moved my mail shortcut to ctrl-z. This keeps all of the commands within reach of my non-mouse hand and i can usually harvest something before it hits the ground.

Ikeep CTRL-ALT- 1 set to Healdamage self , 2 and 3 are programed with the following

/target (insert friends name)

/peace (to clear queue)

/heal damage

I usually hunt with 2 others, Small well balanced group. if i'm withing 5 m i get a to stim them without having to move my target.

my CTRL-ALT -0 is

/fluchg fullReset

this clears the cache for when i enter towns. The game pauses for a second then runs much smoother.

Might start Using the Numberpad now instead.

Did you mean /flushg?

Add a /loot command to all those macros

Then you don't miss a thing in case the creature drops loot (Rancors for instance).

Fact is, I use my macro to loot dead NPCs, no hide, but I get the loot
