Anti-Personnel Devices & Traps
This skill line provides schematics and skill modifiers that allow the Ranger to set traps aimed at NPC humanoids as well as other player characters in a PvP setting. Traps can be placed on the ground and are visible to everyone (unless they are concealed using the Conceal Device skill). Traps have a limited life-span and will be removed from the game at the end of their lifespan. Also, only a limited number of traps may be placed in a given area. Traps may never be placed within city limits.

What purpose will these serve if you cant place them in city limits? I mean what is the chance PvP will leave the starport with the way the GCW is right now?
I am assuming you cannot place traps in player cities either.... So basicley you wait for someone to walk out in the open, and hope they step on this thing?
I like the fact the class is getting some <3 but does this make sense to anyone else?

Assumptions asside the GCW possibilites are endless. YOu can place them around the entrance to a base and wait for the enemy to come charging in to shut off the timer. then right when they are in ranger....BOOM. Set some more along a retreating point then have your concealed buddies open up on them.

That was a subliminal mention of our profession. Incase anyone comes in here reading the word ranger will get implanted in their brain thus not allowing them to forget about us. Kind of like they used to do on TV and at movies.
(acutally I type like a two year old on crack so it wasnt intentional)

I'm making assumptions here. According to the patch notes you highlight, it looks like the placement of traps will follow structure rules and have area limits. This is probably why they can't be placed in cities. However, the thing that is not clear to me is whether the traps can also be weilded and used without being placed on the ground. This may allow us to use our traps while in city limits.

What I want to know is will we be able to throw certain traps at NPCs and players like we can on creatures?

A better question would be whether or not they mean just "cities" or Player Cities? Player cities are hotbeds of GCW activity and not being able to place them there would be a negative in my mind.
