TheRangers Of TC: The Legends Of Rangerdom (LoR)

Currently there are many rangers on TC who have got together to play, test and basically hang out on one server, TC. We made a guild to focus our efforts, provide aid to each other and basically hang out with other forum rangers and tc rangers, its call LoR, the legends of rangerdom. You dont have to be a regular tester, just have a chracter on the server and come and visit the lodge to get guilded.

We are a friendly set of people as youll get to know and basically just hang around on tc. There are a few of us who play quiet a lot on tc now, some that dont and some that just play on the odd occassion. TC will the home of the TC GRM and also the Ranger Games which i will go into more detail later in this thread.

The idea of this guild is for you to meet like minded people and forum rangers on tc to hunt, hang out and test when the time comes. Im hoping by the time the ranger revamp starts to develope we will have a core group of prety experienced characters on TC that will be able to realy test the crap out of the revamp features so we have a smooth revamp going live.

The main purpose is to have fun and meet up with rangers you no doubt discuss and talk to on the forums.

We have a guildhall in Sky Stone city on Tat where we hang out and base our opperations from, its called The Ranger Lodge. Feel free to stop by, theres normally someone online and around thisplace and treat it as your home.

Here is a little something on the events and features we will have located on TC in a short while.

GRM Introduction

The TC Great Ranger Meet: (GRM)

AGRM or Great Ranger Meet is when alarge amount of rangers from the forums and in-game meet up on one server andbasicallyrun around hunting, chatting and basically having lots of fun together on large scale hunts. They happen ever so often andsoon will hopefully be happeningquiet regular. It doenst matter whatserver you are from, what skills you currently have(master ranger or complete noob) you are welcome to join and will be accepted right intothe meet, no probs at all.

Advancing on from this, there is a new developement forrangers playing on TC and visiting the forums. The Ranger Games

The Ranger Games: (GRG)

The main focus of the ranger games are to get lots of scouts and rangers from all galaxies together on tc and participate in scavenger hunts, events, group contests that give points that go onto aleague scoreboard and generally have lots of fun participating in ranger made games and events. The set up for these events are getting worked on as we speak and in a couple of weeks we should be ready for ourfirstRanger Games.

GRM Content

The GRM and the Ranger Games follow on from each other to provide an exciting event and two seperate areas you can participate in. You can leave after the Great Ranger Hunt phase or carry on to the Ranger Games or just participate in the Ranger Games, its up to you.

The GRM and GRG feature lineup looks like this:

The GRM Score Board:

Yes there will be competions and teams, and these teams will be able to gather points related to their performances and impact on their possition in the league. More on this later but expect a leader board in the lodge.

The Hall Of Heros:

This area is like a GRM trophy room. The winners of each GRM get their team represented in this hall for all eternity and there will also be areas for highest ever score etc. Think of this as an area where the winners can be rewarded with a place in the hall not many people get.

The Ranger Uniform:

Every member is entitled to a ranger kit. This kit consists of ranger gear including a GRM uniform, cupa mount andcdef of death (once i can get my hands on them). You will also recieve a team clothing item (most proably ahat) that will set you and your team apart from the rest of the teams. If you preferto wear something better in the field then imfine with that but i would like all to wear the team item when participating in the games and the uniform at the start of the event (for pictures sake hehe).

Free Ranger/Scout Training:

From me or any of the TC guys. We will be happy to help in your training and possibly in your weapons training also.

The GRM Events: (Great Ranger Meet)

The Great Meetup:

Rangers form all over the galaxies load up and head to Skystone, to the ranger lodge. When they are here they will be kitted out with complementory ranger kit and split into teams based on dice roles. Think of this part of the event as a staging time where we prepare what we are going to do.

Mass Hunt:

Exactly what it means. The event starts of witha huge hunt. Every ranger there going out, no armour, either none or partial buffs and kicking ass ranger style on adventure planets. The pruposeis to have fun, get a little cred behind you so you can travel come group events and gain a few skills.

The GRGEvents: (Great Ranger Games)

Group Hunt:

After meeting up back at the lodge, the teams are formed. Objectives set and the teams all head out at the same time in their mini groups to complete the objectives. Some of these may be to get as much leather hide from a planet as possible in 45 minutes. Although the objectives will change by each meet the concept will stay the same, this being gathering as much as possible as a group. Points are allocated by rankings at the end of the hunt (1st place will get x points, 2nd y points etc)

Wheres Wouldzey:

I posta map with a highlighted 'zone' where ill be walking around in. The idea is that the teams line up and are let go all at the same time and the first one to come place a camp around me wins. Basically a points bonus round

Fishing Competition:

The teams have15 minutes to fish there butts off with points going for fish size and number of (unfilleted) fish submitted. Again a group effort and lots of points to be won. This is meant as a sort of cool off before the biggest event of the evening. All fish submitted must be unfilleted in order to prove they are from this shift (the fish meat name must match this shift).

The Great Scavenger Hunt:

Groups of rangers, a list of 20 objectives, a galaxy of danger and hazzard, 1 deadline to meet, lots of fun to be had. Basically this involves the groups planning how they want to aproach the list and what areas they want to focus on. The list will change each month but will focus on scouts and rangers using their skills to find the things they need.Expect gathering, exploring, traveling and hunting tasks. Points are allocated per objective met so be careful what objects you go after as they may not be the best points vs time wise. The higher risk ones will command a higher points prize and every team can complete each objective if they desire (its not just first to finish one gets the points).

Closing comments:

The focus of the events are to create a group feeling and a fun atmosphere to play in. Its not about what skills you have, but how resourcefull you are and how well you work as a team. Im sure winning teams will let it known all over the ranger forums of their triumphs and the contenders will surely let them known their glory will not last

Ok after clearing that up and showing what to expect from the TC rangers in the futures, heres a little fictional stroy behind the guild on TC, the Legends Of Rangerdom (LoR)

The Story (RP based off SolFlare's ranger history)

Within the great townof Skystone, Tatooine, awhisper in thewindthat has not graced the ears ofmanfor some time eachos around the sandy streets calling for all to listen. The voice tells tales froma forgotton age, great battles from anow deadera and times of great prosperity. The voice speaks of the once greatnation ofRangerdom, a place of peace, a place of honour and a place of undying loyalty to the ranger cause.

Randgerdom wasonce a powerfullnation where courage and heroismwas rewarded with respect and admiration. Great heros of that time called theLegends Of Rangerdom fought an ongoing struggle against the Horde, the scourge of the wilderness, the ever creeping industrial essance that covered the landscape in un-used housing, abandoned mining facilities and mechanised transportation. For years they battled and controled the attempts of the horde todestroy Rangerdom but this was never meant to last. From deep within the bowls of the nation cametheFlood,a forceof impatience wrapped up in greed and lust for power. The Horde and Flood converged on the front lines of Rangerdom yet the legends of old stood firm, holding off certain doom for those final daysso they could complete the final and ultimate sacrifice and save the last of their race from extinction.

Within thedepths of the battle, the warriors of Rangerdom drew up every last unit of power they had and forced the enemy on the back foot. Outnumbered impossibly they drew the forces of evil far from the nation's capital of power,The Ranger Lodge and charged into the deathlands with the Horde and Flood behind them. But where the evil powers decieved? For the Deathlands holds no exit, no light at the end of the tunnel and no hope of ever returning. The Horde and Flood, consumed byhate and greedwere tricked into following therangers never toreturn to the land of Rangerdom. The Legends of Rangerdomsacrifced themselves, forsaking their own lives to give hope to the few that remained, that they could escape, find safety and slowly rebuild their empire passing down the knowledge of the ranger from generation to generation.

After the great war the kindom of Rangerdom fell, the few that were saved by the heroism of the many escaped and went into hiding bound by their promise to pass their knowledge from one generation to the next until it was time to resurface. The once great streets of Rangerdomwhere now lined withan eary sense of loss, an un-fading blanket of mistrust and an ever burninglust for power. City-scapes coverd the lands, vehicles poluted the wild and greed lurked everywhere. The tales of great heroism and courage faded into folklaw which in turn faded to legend, to myth and then to the wind. The time of theLegends of Rangerdom was over, the time of the Horde began and remain has it ever since.

That is until now, the voice whispers ever so faintly of a power not seen for an age uniting under the banner of old, a forgotted race of pure and honourable rangers ready to surface again after all these years to fight once again in the name of their forefathers and murdered acestors. Can it be true that theLegends Of Rangerdom have returned to fullfil their promise to the world or is a whisper just a whisper, aninsignificant voice ina society of noise?

That is for you to decide, the wind can tell you many things, but it is you who must act and you who must make that decision. However on thing is for certain, the voice calls for help, and unity of the lost brethren of Rangerdom.

Ok i hope you like what you see so far and are excited by the prospect of large scale ranger made events. I honestly cant wait to set them up and get everyone involved.

Now here is the current Legends Of Rangerdom Members list. If you are in-game on tc, add these to your friends list and send them a tell if they are online. The names below in blue show each forum ranger's TC characters. The names in the section after that are all the rangers with unconfirmed forum names so are just in list form.

I need to know for the GRM so i can make sure i give you the pets before the GRM so by the time we are ready to go, everyone has a mount trainable pet to use.

This thread is just for those Rangers who test or gather on TC so they can organise and plan what they are doing better. If you dont play on TC or more importantly dont intend to then you could just ignore this, but if you are interested then post something.

Ok Kimi and Ken, ive started gathering more resources this past day or so but need to find out where i can grab me a T21 and some food. Any suggestions?
Oh and looks like the GRM stuff we were on about is feasible now, ive been having some talks with friends and TC'ers about how to go about it and kind of got my head straight on it now. Just gathering resources until i can being the crafting and processing stage. Shouldnt be too long until we have our GRM.

I tend to go to Mi'cheal Paladin for weaps, and Bere for food'n'stuff. Leastways since the Market Square at NU went kinda quiet... worth popping up there and checking anyhow.

Check the Skystone Mall as there's a good selection of vendors there and remember to ask in TCPA.

Looking forward to a TC based GRM, yup indeed.

*** okaaay, reading the rest of the thread, lol, I'll see about bringing 'ken up a bit more so we've got more 'pet storage' space. Must get cracking on BE too.

It takes about 7 days to grow a pet to CL 10 if you just leave it in your data pad. I did some testing a while a got because I wanted to arrange some kaadu races for my home town.
Oh and remember that you can drag a pet from your data pad on to a CH trainer and it will be made in to a fully grown CL 10 version. (The old pet trade in code is still working)

Just throwing my name in the hat here. Been a Ranger for some time, though not a master....full tracking, full survival, and half on the other two. I promise to finish it out though....the wilderness is calling me again...

Hehe ken you were on earlier but i didnt see you until you logged

So far i have 10 cu pas, going to master CH in a few mins and learn them the transfer commands to get them on their way to fully grown. Worked out i can have 20 on me but we will still have to get people online and give them their pets before the GRM so they are fully grown and mountable by GRM day. I supose whenever people can get on ill give them the pets.

Would like you guys who are on tc quiet a bit to hook up though, you can be the first to start getting them grown
