Thread: Change the HX2 Mine Body?
You cannot get Assault armor with 'high" energy resit not possible.
Even quad energy layered assault would cap at 6200 energy making the Kinetic alittle under 5800.
Resist at 6300 hit 50% damage mitigation.
So if people are running around in assault there are better choices for hunting Jedi or someone packing a blaster, unless of course that ranged weapon wielding person also has a Kinetic Carbine or Rifle.
Again the best option is still a Kinetic damage mine with a fire elemental damge.
If you are hunting a Jedi, or person not wearing Kinetic layered assault, or good battle armorhe is going to take a pounding from the explosion.
HX2 Mine Body - Basic explosive mine. Does 100% Kinetic Elemental Fire damage (mitigated by armor & Personal Shield Generators).
So no it will NOT bypass a PSG. Elemental range damage does not bypass PSG, only pure kinetic range damage.
All weapons are either kinetic or energy, that is how the system is designed, and can then have a bonus damage of elemental on top of that. When a trap says 100% Kinetic Elemental Fire damage, I read that as a weapon that is kinetic damage by type, but has all its damage in the elemental part.
A set pure kinetic assault armour would not matter here, only the elemental resist.
Well since my alt is a Master Armorsmith please tell me how to make a PSG that has a special resist because all I have made have Energy as the opne and only resist.
The Special and Kinetic resist are all at ZERO, NADA, ZIPPO so please enlighten me I will make a killing selling these special PSGs.
Again a PSG only stops Energy.
BTW as far as I know PSG do not protect melee energy attack either.
I will se if I can find time to dig the references out for you, but I am not prepared to use hours on it.

Anyone can wear a PSG and Personal Shield Generators will work only against ranged Energy attacks and do not provide any protection against Kinetic and elemental attacks (PSG's only protect a player from ranged elemental attacks).
Ok that was easier to find then expected.
HX2 Mine Body: Basic explosive mine
Kaminoan Dart Trap Assembly: Poison Health DOT
Flash-Bang Body: Combat Slow & Stun.
Spring Loaded Caltrop Assembly: This is a very effective movement Snare.
Now as I se it the HX2 does not necessary need to be to be 100% Kinetic Elemental Fire damage, it job in our arsenal will be direct damage dealing (likely AoE). So to accommodating the commandos that think explosions are thair turf, why not change it to 100% Energy Elemental Electricity damage.
It might look more high-tech, and thus more star wars like. It would definitely be more like the what the BH's use with thair LLC and thus with in the scope of SWG universe. And if it ends up with other profession crafting our stuff then it could be DE crafted instead of WS crafted.
Think about what you are writing first.
We have two forces at work a concussion force andenergy force.
So the concussion is the kinetic damage and the fire is the elemental. Seems perfectly normal to me.
I do not care what the commandos or smugglers think at this point. I want a viable ranger profession.
So as far as changing the HX2 mine to Energy and Electric. NO.
Everyone and his mother in PvP is sporting Recon armor at near 8200 resist and packing a IMP PSG with 2400 resist.
Guess what the counter is..... Kinetic damage.
We need to have Kinetic based traps. Why screw ourselves from the git go.

Well, Yoda help them if they run into a HX2 mine in a kill zone. They are taking Kinetic damage that will cut right through that nice Recon armor by passing any PSG.
This I want.
i agree... except its assault armor with the high energy resists.... not recon... or i'm completly crazy, pretty sure though
