Why can't we leave area track? What an awesome skill in pvp hunting, or pve tracking. My hopes were we would be able to area track cloaked jedi, by using some sort of metachlorine craftable tracking device or whatever. But alas ....

It seems they are moving toward a more realistic system for tracking...

In Development...

  • Tracking Beacon: Uses a Bio Signature to locate a target using Imperial tracking satellites.

  • Bio Sensor Probe: Used on an attackable humanoid to gain a bio signature sample- used to "shape and target" a trap, filter Motion Sensor Beacons and key Tracking Beacons to a specific humanoid.

    • Would be interesting if we could use similar technology to track and hunt down creatures, too.

With any luck, we'll see some form of creature tracking put into Scout. From what I keep reading, this skill is being primarily used to find creatures of various types; I hear this primarily from folks like BE and CH's. I can see their point of view, and I think it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to put at least the creature /areatrack down to Scout level. Fingers crossed!

As noted above, we will be getting some kind of tracking ability for more intelligent prey; it'll be a little more difficult to say how well this will work until it hits TC.

Ok my opinion but I do use area track to get game in the wild with out going to get missions. I just hate going back to town. I am excited about the revamp and look foward to testing it out. I would like to see some form of area track stay in the game. I don't think it is usefull in PVP as most toons move to fast to track that way. 500M and you have to stay stationary to track makes it next to useless except for advanced recon which is valid. You know look over a hill I see 6 jedi and 4 commandos a BH and another ranger looking at me through a Scope. LOL

anyway we will see I am sure SOE will make some changes as the find out what iscodeable. Like oh wait these traps are to much, it is redicoulous to be able to hide in a city and we just can make you drop off the radar it is likely to be hacked. Here have forage back.

Well, Paks has asked for creture tracking to be put into scout, so we'll se what happens. Maybe the devs will listen since Rangers, BEs and CHs are complaining about the removal, but who knows. Personally I'd hate to see it go, it's a great tool and I use it all the time.

For me, the ideal situation would be to keep tracking, but move it into scout.

the secondary solution would be having a droid engineer create a droid with a tracking chip and have it certed at novice ranger.

either way i would be happy, if tracking were kept in the game... but ideally, it should be as it is, moved into scout.
