Heres what i did to grind a huge load of trap xp today.
0.) Have Medic x4xx. So you have bacta toss and bacta spray
1.) Gather a huge amount of resources
2.) Make schematics for traps that have temporary mods (noise maker, licapines, bone shard, etc.)
3.) Beg a crafter to make these for you with his factory
5.) Find a mission that deals with benign creatures that fire projectiles. (I pulled a cupa mission)
6.) Find one creature from that mission and target it
7.) Load several of ur unused toolbars with traps till thier full. I suggest you expand to a double bar.
8.) Ready
9.) Aim
10.) Fire!
11.) Now wait for the mods from the traps on the creature to wear off. Once they wear off, re-throw a trap.
12.) Repeat until all traps are exhausted. Use bacta toss if needed.
13.) Once all traps are exhausted, gun down the creature.
14.) Save the mission so u can come back to it later.
This helped me gather all of scout trapping xp in one day.

Yay, grats!!
Did pretty much the same here on one toon that I'd managed to max out the scout XP lines just from hunting and decided to take to Master Scout for the fun of it.
He only had novice medic, a quick bacta now and then was enough unless I got careless in which case stims and food.
Sat and crafted 8 stacks each of P-dart, glow wire and stink bombs. Dragged them onto a double task bar.
I'd already taken my toon up to having TL10 so was able to head to Eisley where the missions are capped at CL15. Took missions for creatures that DIDN'T have ranged attacks, so no spitting please. Big herd of ronto did the trick nicely. (Later moved out to Mospic High Plains, got some wild spawn of dewies, CL25, then up to Naboo for some CL30 faamba. CL50's I was able to pick up as missions again to finish)
Fired P-dart, G-Wire, stink, watched for the P-dart snare wearing off, kneecapshot to resnare, gwire, stink, p-dart as the snare was wearing off.. as soon as the critter started trundling towards me I beat feet out to abt 100m fromteh lair, it lost interest and went into retreat, just followed it in, my action recovering, maybe a bit of bacta to sort out any glancing blows. Rinse, wash and repeat.
Once I was out of traps I'd break contact, drop a camp, sit and craft another two toolbars worth. Well, am an old school Ranger, camps and crafting traps go together and the little bit of scout XP from the camping and crafting always helps.
Took me three 2 hour sessions, spread over a weekend. If' I'd been more dedicated I guess I could have done it all in one sitting but as I was starting to get 'trap happy' and looking for ways to leave my initials as a trail of white traps on the radar, probably best not to

If you have to grind out scout XP as well as trapping XP, I recommend getting two missions of the same critters in the same direction. Run a macro that uses all traps at your disposal on each critter and then kill and harvest each available critter. Don't shoot the lair at all...go to the next mission spot and do the same thing, but don't shoot the lair. Keep running between the lairs like this and you will grind ALL your XP much more efficiently.
Oh...just make up a simple macro for running your traps. Fill you toolbar slots from 1 - 8 and just use a simple /ui toolbarSlot macro to run it.
