If I want to hunt critters, I should go Master Scout.

If I want to hunt people, I should go Master Ranger.

Is that it?

If you want to hunt critters, You should go Master Scout.

If you want to hunt people, you should go Master Bounty Hunter.

If you want to be able to do both, you should go Master Ranger.

[19:46] <Helios> Currently, all ranger skills/items only take humanoids as targets, while Scout traps/skills are more creature-centric. We'll continue to evaluate this mechanic during playtesting and keep you posted on any developments.

Yah, just got there in time to miss it, lol. Been too much interesting stuff IN the forum board recently to watch the other notices. My excuse, sticking to it.

Just going to wait for the transcript

Yeah, possibly the worst dev chat I have seen thus far. Oh well, good thing I already have Master Carbine down pat just incase the whole ranger thing does pan out.

Master Scout isn't the pre-req for the new Ranger.

So going Master Ranger doesn't give you the creature traps and the skill mods from Master Scout.

Ranger traps are NPC-only at this moment.

What is it with Scout and Ranger traps? Are they somehow connected to the force since they can pick and chose their targets?

"Oh, I'm a proximity trap, I'm too good to kill creatures. Bohoo you, yay me!"

Hopefully they do not make the same mistakes for the new ranger traps that they did for the old scout traps. Setting traps in the ground is cool, but unless they hold people in place for a good five minutes how often are any of us going to use them against people? On the other hand I can see setting up the graveyard in advance of a krayt fight.....
