I doubt the force cloak would fly, *much whining there* as far as cover goes, track and run to target and ya pop them anyhow. maybe having a area of affect like say a 100-200m radius from a ground target that the ranger selects, i dunno, ........

I hear you on the Force Clock - whinerissue. But seriously, there needs to be some counter to force cloak. OnceNinja Jedi start de-cloaking in groups of 4 or 5 in the middle of PvP situations, the developers and players may think differently about giving a counter to it.

And as for the rifleman, once you starting taking damage from their concealed shot, you may have no idea where they are. I'm not thinking about an instant pop for this one. Just a 64m detection area. Then the ranger would have to move to 20m to pop them so the rest of the world can see them.

well, we CAN already detect them using areatrack if we are tracking for players AND they are within the 500m radius. I just don't do all that much tracking for players most times, but we DO have a skill that COULD let you know if they are around, and approximately how far and in what direction. No guarantee they're not moving tho, and it's not going to "pop" them (unless you get close enough to a cloaked rifleman).

Areatrack seems to be good enough as far as Jedi are concerned. At least for now, anyway. The player city in which I reside is a frequent target of Jedi swarms and many of them are cloakers. I have found that if you chase those invisible bums through town with a pack of rabid huntersbehind you, the either run away or decloak for the fight. Good enough for me.

I think in the Outdoorsman Proposal to counter the camo that we suggested we should have, we gave a detection bonus to Squad Leaders. I think that'd be more useful for them, and would put them a step towards being useful again. I'd rather HAVE camo than break it.

We could always ask for a cloak ourselves with camo

I was just thinking, now with the CU, there are new "inviso" powers in the game (rifleman, jedi). Every other RPG i have played always had a counter to invisibility. So why shouldn't scout and ranger have the ability to break conceal and force cloak?

Thoughts?

QFE. I love this cloak as a rifleman, but it's incredibly limiting. A ranger, on the other hand, shoud be able to movemore freely and cloaked. Perhaps using those extra TN points for moving while cloaked?

We have, but it isn't possible in this game

Oh im sure if we were to put up a big enough stink they would, but this is the ranger forums so it wont happen. (which could be considered a good thing in itself.)
