yep. ranger + mastery of any combat profession = CL80

And what is the handiest profession to go with Ranger? I would assume Rifleman, but thought I would ask.

I like BH myself. Improved Duelist stance is great, actually gives me a chance in PvP and PvNPC. Plus, a ranged KD is very, very nice to have.

I dueled a half-templated (or so) Jedi friend yesterday for fun and practice and I wound up beating them a few times, even though my template (MBH/Ranger) is far from uber in PvP. Though I did wind up on my butt a few more times than he did.

TKM's are great tanks but don't do enough damage when hunting solo. (My ranger is a TKMbut she always hunts while grouped). If you're going melee and want to hunt alone then swordsman would be the better choice. A combination of traps (traps are great for pulling single creatures), armor break and high damage specials makes the creatures go down fast. And the advantage of being a melee ranger is that you don't need to use a droid to go get the resources. The creatures die right at your feet.

MRanger/MBH here. CL80 and doing great. I Don't hunt Jedi on principle but like the mix of specials and the cool weapons.

MRanger / MBH / SL0300 is a great template. Gives you a fighting chance in PvP (you need all the food, stims, etc).

Great thing about MBH is your ability to use all the ranged weapons with some success.

I am just retraining from MRanger, rifles 4,0,0,4, & medic 0,3,3,0 which I have been for ages to MRanger and MBH, MBH will make me tougher especially when/if mobs manage to close to melee range.

No Jedi hunting for me either on principle
