i'm master ranger / master rifles, with an alright nullifier x rifle.
The problem is, I suck
I get incapped all the time, and cover/conceal shot doesnt seem to work for me. I hit the creature with one shot, and it charges at me like I am not even hidden.
I'm thinking of going master ranger / .......?
I really dont want to do bh, because the investigation tree takes too long. any suggestions?
How is pikeman since the cu?

this may be a result of being too close to the mob. you useing a rifle soooo, if your not already doing so max out your distance, approch the mob already/maskscent'edor cammoed. This reduces the probability ofinnital mob visability, like when they have a ? or ! appear over there head. Once that happens they are aware of your position and seem to remember it when you disapear with /cover (at least with me). This tactic works for me most of the time. AlsoI noticed it helps to approce prone rather than standing.

Right. When I'm out hunting solo, just for the fun of it, what I do is:
Aamo myself.
Approach the spawn to where the nearest critter is 100m away.
/prone
/cover
Crawl up to where my bowcaster just is viable - 65m - or if the critters are moving alot, I only go to 70m and wait for movement.
Once one is within the 65m range, I conceal shot one shot. Then I wait. I wait until all the critters have calmed down. The one I shot usually would charge towards me about 5m, and then will look around confused. Then I take a second concealed shot. If I'm lucky, he'll only charge another 5-10m towards me and then will stop. I wait. If he keeps coming, or if he's getting within 35m, I just start taking sniper shots. Otherwise, a third conceal shot and then an immediate sniper shot. By that time, he's over half gone and a head shot or two and he's down.
Lather, rinse, rinse, rinse, repeat.
errr, ahhh, ROAR

Well, the way I described is for when I want to do the cover/conceal pair. I don't usually trap except when grouped, but if I decide to trap solo, then I don't bother with cover. Or if I do, I stick with one cover shot, then toss a p-dart and try to land as many sniper shots as possible before the critter goes <20m.
