Are wild spawns working on Lok properly because nothing spawns down south.

on Ahazi, they've been straight up broken for some time now. IF you happen to get on right after a server reset before all the Jeedai wanna-bes start grinding level 80 gurk missions, you can generally find some decent wild spawn. Once the population of players (and grind missions) explodes, wild spawn seem to dry up completely until the next server reset. Also, depending on your galaxy and all, but the more player cities that spring up to support Paddie grinding activities all over the place in the "remote" locations only Rangers were once known to tread, the fewer wild spawn seem to be in those areas. Some morons put a city on the south side of the volcano a while back and it pretty much seemed to kill all the kimo and gurk spawns that used to be rather prevalant down around there.

The behavior is similar on Starsider, and I imagine, most servers. They really need a despawn system to clean up old mobs so the wilderness can flourish.

it's a good thing I'm past the point in my life where I'd make a joke out of that.

There is literally nothing on Lok, as far as Bloodfin is concerned. I walked all the way west of Nyms awhile back, took a guy around eastern and southern parts of Lok looking for static snorbal spawns, and didn't seen anything else around. I believe I ran across a couple gurks, a kimo, and like.. a flit. In over half the map, I saw 3 animals, while walking. Some believe it has something to do with all the player bases spawning the 20-30 troops needed in each that's somehow messing with it, but I doubt that's the cause.
I've /bugged it a few times.

yep - I recently found one area on Bloodfin that has spawns - near the small player city dark pearl, but when I came back even that area was devoid of spawns. I managed to get a few wild spawns to come up by running some missions in the area, but at nowhere near the density that a low-level adventure planet merits.

I reflect your sentiments about Lok and how it used to be the realm of rangers..
The devs said a long time ago that planets have a hard cap on the number of mobs that can be spawned at any given time. Lok is a big hunting ground on Bria as it is on Ahazi (Yes, I checked it out myself). If you look at the planetary map, you can click on the terminal group and it'll show you where all the mission terminals are on the planet. Not only will it show the cities well established, but it'll show the cities not even on the maps yet. Group missions now spawn many more mobs than they used to. And if you mozy in a huge circle around nym's stronghold, you'll see a huge field of gurks sitting at lvl80 or higher. Go to player cities down south and all you'll see, mobwise, are missions.
The other day, I was speeding from my house to the nearest player city shuttle. Spotted my first kimo in a month. I quickly logged into my main account, ran over, and it had despawned. I was quite upset because they drop the illusive carni meat on Lok. Very few mobs actually do drop carni on Lok. Without wild spawns, I have a tough time collecting it.
I moved to Lok about a week after player cities were introduced into the game. It was lagfree, dangerous, and open. Now? It's just dantooine on steroids.
