Well, the "Mask Scent / Camo Fix" is on Test Center. It is finally up to the same level as the CL Aggro avoidance. However, it states that grey con creatures will no longer break mask scent and camo, in addition to "if they break it, they will only attack at the proper distance in comparison to your CL." "If they break," as in if a grey con mob breaks it.
Are they truly intending to bring Camoflauge and Mask Scent anywhere above the CL system to avoid aggressiveness, or would that be too unbalancing? I really don't think that it would, because we pay skill points for the specific abilities and not the CL itself. There should be some sort of benefits to Camoflauge, or why else use it? The new patch notes have pretty much stated that it is almost exactly like the level system anyways.

well as long as they are working on it is making me happy. im not going into the what i would like them(camo/maskscent) to do because that has been discussed alot. If they just fix it ...that is one small step, and that makes me happy

Right. While 'attention' is not necessarily always a good thing (you have my sympathies yet again, CH's), it is encouraging to see that they're at least doing something specific to the Ranger profession.

I made the same interpretation, Bio, but I think it needs to be clarified and tested before we get too worked up. Low level may mean blue-red con. It could also mean CL5 critters when you are CL5, know what I mean?

I haven't tested it yet but from the sounds of it this does provide a benefit to using camoflauge/maskscent. I think the statement was worded badly and is just talking about how the system works for non-grey cons. It looks like Rangers/Scouts (and people using camo kits) will be able to go within the aggro radius determined by the level system, while anyone else is attacked instantly. I'm just hoping they've also improved the effectiveness of camo and maskscent since it's currently way too unreliable to use (mobs around my level seem to break it 50% of the time).
However, I'm worried about the fact that creatures are still checking for camo outside the aggro radius. IMO this shouldn't be happening but I guess it's an improvement from the days of aggro kreetles

The way I assume it works is that Grey cons no longer break masksent/camo and attack - making camo no longer the liability it has been - and if a creature breaks your camo from 62 meters away it does not immediatly aggro and run all the way over. You have to be within its normal aggro radius. I think they are bug fixes and not enhancements.
But you know what they say about assumptions...

As far as im aware these fixes mean that grey cons cant break our camo and the con'd mobs will no longer attack us from 64m if they break our camo.

i wonder if it will break instantly with mobs that are +1 level higher than your combat level. NPC's included. Makes me wish I put more effort into my TC character so U could test it.

They said "Grey" con. They didn't say anything about anything else.
If a player is grouped with a CL 80 as a Novice Scout, I wonder how long their camo would last.
