More of a scout question, but if you're here, you probably have seen "adhesive traps" in schematics. Also posted this in scout section.

I've found several threads on the topic, but I guess I'm an idiot. What "polymer" works in Adhesive Traps?? Inert Petrochemical doesnt work, or at least one version of it. Has ANYone mad these traps? and if so, which "polymer" did you use? Not to be rude, but I don't need a s"surveying" or "shopping the bazaar" lesson, as other threads have turned into. Just want a simple answer, please.

You sure the Inert Petrochemical you picked up was of the type 'polymer' and not 'mech. lubricant'? It should have worked... I know I've bought the wrong type on ocassion, since they're named the exact same thing.

I've used the Inert Petrochemical Polymer to make mine, make sure you check to description, not all Inert Petrochemical is polymer, I accidently baught lubricating oil ona fewoccasions. But even if you get the right type, don't get your hopes up, this trap sucks about as bad as any trap could possible suck. First of all, when you make it it comes in a stack of 2, and every one I have ever thrown has never lasted longer than a few seconds at best. I hope they look into this, I can't imagine it is actually working as intended right now.

That's odd shadee...my Adhesives lasted long enough for me to throw 10 wire traps, throw another adhesive, then throw 5 more wire traps then run until aggro is broke. Even vs level 30ish creatures. Great power xp for traps.

IMO, adhesive mesh is by far the most useful trap in our arsenal, followed by p-darts. As NEFloyd said, these traps allowto solo creatures wayabove your difficulty level if you are careful and know what you are doing. Now, if we only had an AoE root and snare, I would be in heaven!

I use the p-darts all the time. Isn't it a lot like the adhesive mesh? I admit I really haven't give the mesh a chance. What does it do and how is it better than the p-darts?

I think basically adhesive mesh equals root where the p darts equal snare. For non former EQ players, that means the mesh stops them in their tracks (with a supposed action pool damage) where the P darts only slow them down.

Personally I use a lot of my metal resources on p darts and camps, really not interested in investing in some polymer on top of this just to use another trap. Just stay on the move and use snare (p darts) instead.

p-dart slows them down. Adhesive mesh stops them cold. With adhesive mesh they CANNOT move. With p-dart they still slowly advance towards you.

Using Adhesive mesh allows me to Carbine down Humbumba's on Corelia solo.

p-dart slows the creature movement

adhesive mesh roots the creature in place and damages the action pool

My best practice is to use both. pull the creature with a p-dart, shoot once or twice, then follow on with an adhesive mesh. Unless the creature is particularly difficult, it'll drop before the adhesive wears off.

I wonder if the polymer I chose is of too poor a quality? My traps are sticking only long enough for me to get off 2 shots with one of the best rifles available. I'll have to experiement with some different polymers to find out.
