I've managed to sustain a camp through combat on multiple occasions. In other words, I created a camp, healed up. Then, I killed something and the camp did not disband. Has anyone else pulled this off or have any tricks that seem to work?

I've done this too. I wasn't thinking and I did a one-shot kill on some wandering critter so I could harvest it's bones. My camp stayed up. Another time an aggressive critter wandered into my camp and jumped my buddy. I helped kill it and the camp stayed up.

It's always been very fickle for me. I can always one-shot some little critter and the camp stays up, but sometimes I'll get into longer fights, and sometimes the camp will stay, and sometimes it'll poof. Very strange.

I have had this happen also. It seems to me that the camp only "poofed" when I took damage, not when I was dealing it out.

Its worth testing anyway.
