Today I was online and I recieved a tell from a guy I haven't seen in a few weeks, someone I met when I first got SWG.

He asks "So what have you been up to?"

I reply "Not much, working on my Ranger"

He says "What do Ranger's do?"

I said "We have camps and...camouflage"

Then it hit me...What makes Rangers so special as to spend 63 points on Mastering the skill? Camps? LOL!!!

Lets assume camps will get fixed, and repel aggressive creature but what about the other area of the skill tree? Is Master Ranger worth 2 Ranger Traps? We need at least 2-3 more traps in ourRangerSkill Treethat are very useful and can be used on bigger prey. The 2 traps that we do have, even when fixed need to do a lot more damage to mobs, not this debuff stuff. I want real HAM eatting damage.

Creature to Hit bonus is fine, but what about a Creature Damage Modifier, something thats starts out small andat the top level lets us hit creature for maybe 10 or 15 percent more damage.

Harvesting Resources, we need a Ranger only resource that only Rangers can harvest. Something that makes it more worthwhile that the scout harvesting. Harvesting 5-7 extra hides is not worth 4 skill boxes. We need some sort of organic that onyl we can harvest.

Fix forage to be useful, put "rare" forage in the game. Big deal, I am a Master Ranger I can forage Melons and Nectar Blend

That's all I can think of now, I am sticking by my Ranger but we have some tough months ahead

You're right, but i guess it's all in what you looking for. FOr me i love scouting so a ranger is the way to go. You get to run faster than anyone, gather more resources and get better traps. i'm for all of that the only thing i could care less about is that rescue junk, i dont group, so it's pretty much useless

But I like my nectar blend....

Seriously...I agree with your post and I do believe they plan on fleshing our class out more.

Not only do they need to add more value to each branch of the Master Ranger tree but they also need to SLOW DOWN the leveling of those branches. Becoming a Master in 3 lines should be similar to leveling to 65 in EverQuest, you should not be able to do it in the first month of the game's life (sure, in EQ a player can be power leveled to 65 in a few days but it takes a whole mess of experienced players and good equipment).

If each branch is loaded with goodies then people will accept a slow-down of the leveling. Also, armor/equipment needs to make more of a difference in the game (I kill the same creatures naked as I do with full gear).

Bah... I digressed from the scope of this thread and forum. I just think we need more for more... or this game will become boring. So far I love Galaxies (in a way that I only loved EQ --and I have tried nearly every MMORPG out there) but I can see things becoming very boring very fast.

Yes, armor is useless to me, I dont notice much difference honestly with or without... but that has nothing to do With Rangers! =) Rangers WILL be more fleshed out, I agree with all the creator of this post had to say though. Camps will be fixed as well as traps, but we should have a "special" resoruce we can only harvest that would be cool. Also I think to flesh out a little more, some stat defense bonuses should be had before Master Ranger. It's kind of Random that suddenly as a Master Ranger you get all these Ranged Defense bonuses and such... (Although who am I too complain for that!)

But thats all really... Rangers need to be more FLESHED out, we dont have by far the number of problems that, Commando classes or Bio Engies have for example, they need the most help =) But trust me, Devs understand, and since Ranger seem to complain the least or complain in a respectful, humble fashion, they may suprise us =)

Its funny you should ask this question , because it seems that we ourselves have a hard time figuring out what a Ranger is and should be. Most of us, I think, feel a Ranger should be a person who should be able to handle himself in the wild and deal with all threats he may encounter out there, human or animal. Now do we have that yet?
