I know you are all as anxious as I am for some feedback on the first correspondent submission. I have been given hope that we may see something by the end of this week.

Until then, I'll keep gathering issues for this weeks submission. Remember, rate posts to help draw attention, and keep bringing the issues and suggestions out.

short answer: no.

reader's digest answer: sort of - Q-3PO said I would hopefully hear something later this week..that was yesterday.

long answer: I'm guessing that we sort of dropped a bomb on the designers, as our top 5 issues basically saythe profession needs a significant overhaul (redesign work). Figuring out how to prioritize and tackle the problems we submitted is likely going to take a few days, and I expect there was probably a meeting or two. I plan on keeping to my schedule of submitting late am on Fridays. With any luck, I'll hear something later today or tomorrow.

In either case, I'll let the community know what's happening.

I thought your points were very reasonable and obvious... I don't consider it a dropped bomb. Most of it is just things that are bugged/broken or seriously flawed in concept.

The truth is... they don't give a rats behind about Rangers... because the only difference in skills between a ranger and scout is /RESCUE.

Their prior solution was: Fix Scout and the Rangers will be happy...

When really we are saying... if we're just scouts... why did we waste 63 skill points.

Mineras... tell them to either come clean with their "vision" of what they want a Ranger to be so we can move our suggestions into a positive direction with what they can do with the class...

Either that or they're going to have to admit that they needed to fill a skill slot and since Farmer and Geologist were shot down... they decided to make "Rangers" instead... which are really scouts with "Rescue" and oh yeah... we HAD Conceal... but they didn't like that.... so they scrapped it...

They should have scrapped the class along with it.

Mineras,

If you are looking for something to include in the "pet peeve" section of your next submission or would be kind enough to try to get a simple question answered I, and many others, would very thankful.

Obviously, one of our biggest concerns is our worthlessness (except for running around really fast) in PvP (yes, I know you already know this, this is just rhetoric). Without asking the ranger dev to go into details or possible solutions could you ask them to give a simple yes/no answer on if any type of enhancement will be added, or even considered, for making the Ranger viable in PvP. I ask because I am getting close to being able to pick up Ranger and once I master that I don't see the point of spending much time in PvE. Intheir current state I'm not sure if it is worth it. And the ranger is the class I have always wanted to play (the archetype of a ranger I use is Aragorn in LotR).

Thank you!

I am just curious about one thing, Mineras. Have you had any kind of direct e-mail contact with the Ranger Dev? Do we even know who is it?

Mineras, I have one request;

please ask the Ranger Dev if /conceal is ever coming back. This would help give us some idea as to how the Ranger will develop over the next couple of months.

Good points... I want to know NOW whether or not I should abandon this class. If the devs are going to ignore us and continue to nerf our "elite" class even more then I will just go for another class instead. I would like to know if I am wasting my time in hoping that our class is fixed or expanded.

I would give it a month.. maybe two. The scout exp isn't going anywhere else so unless you really need the skill points, there's no reason to abandon it just yet.

heh, pandora's box....

as I posted earlier today, I have yet to hear back with any real detail on our top 5. Once I can get the ear of whomever it is I will corresponding with, I'll try to get the major concerns and questions addressed as we progress through the major Ranger issues.

Q-3PO said hopefully this week. Considering the scout rep and the associated dev have entered into dialog, I would expect the same for Ranger is coming shortly.I have many of the same questions you all do. Once I get the 'real' feedback, I'll let everyone know, and we can progress from there.

I'm as impatient as everyone else is to see things start moving. Give it a couple more days, and lets see what happens.
