Congratulations.

Sadly i have decided to drop wayfaring and advanced trapping and pickup the smuggler pistol line to compliment my pistoleer skills. I just can't give up my fancy camps and tracking ability, tracking is my bread and butter, lets me know if i am pursued by imperials and leads me to the creature migrations so i can make a living selling meats to the chef friends i've made. 10k more survival experience to go. Was one box away from master in both wayfaring and tracking.. before i made my choice. Master ranger simply offers me nothing that scout doesn't. All the traps i use are in the scout line and i don't find conceal useful, i even have stacks of all the components to make them. I've never found it any more useful than mask scent, as far as being able to apply it to other players? Nobody ever wants to hunt in groups and i've grown tired of asking people to group.

No one asks you to group?

Strange.

I get invited all the time to group. In fact, there are more groups and great people that invite me to join than I am personally comfortable with. Friday night hunts. Saturday night hunts. Hunting with my PA members. I draw the line on Sunday night hunts because I don't like being a total zombie on Monday mornings at work. Heh. Players ask me to apply camo for them to help get around aggro human mobs (haven't made a camo kit yet but plan on experimenting with them once the test center changes come 'round).

I still prefer soloing to grouping, but there's something cool about being with a huge group to down a giant krayt (it dropped almost 600 bone for me. 600! And 4000+ pistol XP! Wow!).

Yeah most people have no idea what a rangers does or can do. I have no pets and i solo all the time. Mountain squill, lone dewbacks, giant sand beetles, tortons. etc... if it isn't social i can kill it unless it's a krayt, i'm not crazy lol. But no, i've been on exactly 5 group hunts since july when i bought the game. Started the game with a real life friend but he has since quit because all he can think about it world of warcraft and he prefers eq static type content that never changes. I haven't joined a PA because over the years guilds have left a bad taste in my mouth from all the other mmorpgs i've played.

Thanks to an excursion to the Krayt Graveyard for that last 15k of survival experience, I have made it to Master Ranger. Woo hoo!

I'm thinkin' of throwing a party. We'll see -- I need to get some cool door prizes and find some entertainment for the evening.

Thanks to all the Valcyn Rangers who have helped me, especially Grrail (not sure if he's on here), my Ranger and CH mentor who did the honors of giving me my Master Ranger status last night. He's given me tons of advice and assistance and is the best mentor one can ask for. Thanks to the Antarian Rangers of Valcyn who have provided a valuable network for me and other Valcyn Rangers. I wouldn't be as successful as I am without them.

Thanks to all the Rangers here on the boards who have provided guidance and encouragement, especially Mineras, Delta, and NRaas. I raise my glass to you all for making my experience a positive one.
