Thread: Bit of info on Trap Success vs creature level
I heard some speculation awhile back about how traps may not work against creatures over cl 100. I can report this is not the case. I successfully landed 2 Glow-Wire Traps on a Giant Kimo on lok(Giant Kimo is cl 120). However, 20 other traps failed.
So cl 100 isn't a "cutoff" but it does look like from cl 100 and up your success rate drops off at an exponential rate, thus making Krayts pretty much invulnerable. You might still have "a chance" at trapping one, but it'd probably be 1 in a million that it would connect lol.
One last note...then blessed sleep. Those 20 traps that failed were spread out over two Giant Kimos not one single Giant Kimo. I don't have, since I was focusing on survival) the numbers on how many it took for a trap to connect. Also I only got one trap in on each Kimo. Anyway, harder numbers are definitely in order here to potentially discern a pattern or formula. But just wanted to get this little bit of info out there.
Also: regular Kimos(cl 90) had roughly a 75% chance that my glow-wire trap thatI tossed would connect. All traps were also constructed from average to slightly above average materials.
How much trapping xp did you get? 2k? 3k?
I've seen my traps slide off kimos like water off faamba's back, but then I only have ranger trapping 1...
