Thread: Where did all the spawns GO???

I have had a hard time finding any spawns out a ways from the cities. I use to just pick a direction and go! With tracking it was great. Now of late tracking doesn't help because the spawns won't pop unless your within short range of the spawn point. And even then they are very far and few between.

Now as I re-call Holo wanted us to go out and explore. Will without anything to hunt its not worth the time!

An OMG I was out on Lok and it is so tame now that the merc's and Nym guards aren't out of their lairs a Novice Medic can go out and place a flora farm without a care in the world! I remember when you risked your life just leaving the Strong Hold. When the Merc's would shoot first ask questions never. Then the Droidiki's when they became aggresive Oh man was it tuff to get around there. Now its like a care-bear planet. Pick and choose your targets and kite the ruff ones.

Sorry back to my point Where did all the spawns go? PLEASE HALO FIX THIS! I want to hunt!

yes the worlds do seem a bit less hostile now. I run for ages and see nothing.

The problem is worse immediately after the server restart. I went for kms this morning thru Naboo looking for some babies I wanted to tame. I agree that Lok is less hostile than what it used to be. Getting thru the spawn ring before was a mission, now you can go as far as the Plains of Dust and see a spawn every 70m.

It has been suggested that servers have a limited number of spawns that can be active at any one time.

  • Once that limit is reached, the server needs to wait until one of other lairs is destroyed before spawning a new one.

It has also been suggested that the spawn generator is written to spawn lairs near the players (why bother spawning lairs in places players never visit).

  • So the more travelled areas in the game will be have the largest concentration of spawn (around towns for instance)

Put these two items together, and you will find that since most lairs are near town, there are none available to spawn around your character as you are roaming out in the wilderness.

----

On Test Center, there are far fewer people...

  • So less spawn around the towns (and fewer mission spawns).

  • This leaves more spawns available to appear around your character as you move around

The Test Center spawn rate is huge compared to what I have seen on Live, so the theory seems to hold.

Exactly, /areatrack is completely worthless unless you are either in town or standing on top of the lair. Spawn times are way too slow, so 500m is too much at the moment. If /areatrack is going to be inline with spawn times, it needs to be set at 2m forward and 20m back because that's when everything seems to spawn.

Will I sure hope they take that suggestion of letting our Tracking show us where these spawn locations are. Because right now we can't see the monsterwith /areascanunless its already spawned.

If you think Lok is bad tryDathomir and Endor, I manged a straight 8km autorun on Endor a couple of nights back, only time I had to steer was to move round landscape objects. And NRaas theory sounds right, try running a little, stop andthen wait aminute or so, you'll often get spawns pop around you.

It did not use to be like this. It used to be red every where on the advanced planets, and then one patch day, poof, they all disappeared (its been a month atleast).
