Thread: Mask Scent while mounted?

The other day, a friend of mine who was hologrinding ranger asked me why rangers couldn't mask scent while mounted. I had no answer, and I actually thought it was quite the idea. This would be a reflection of the ranger's great skill at masking scent, to the point of being able to do it in a vehicule or while on a mount. Is it at all possible to implement this?

It's been brought up a few times before. Like every other proposal that we've ever put up in the last year or so, nothing ever happened with it of course.
Would make a nice little benefit to being a ranger.

I feel the need to dismount my bike to apply or re-apply mask scenta minor nuisence. The Idea that Bridonar brings up,I'm sure has been brought up before. I started thinking that now with the ability to custom paint your car or bike now, that maybe a camo kit that can be applied to yourvehicle might be possible.
maybe something wecould get from an artisan?
I know you guys here in the forum are far better to think of cons and pros of this, better then I, but I would love to know what some think

The current system is pretty much useless because so few people use mounts and all you have to do to travel is aim swoop, press autorun. This would help rangers who use mounts to travel and hunt.

Nifty idea, but i am sure someone will bring up the big noisy engine issue.
Maybe silencers on the tail pipes?

cant remember where but i thought i saw silenced ion and repulsor lift engines..... i think....... maybe?....... this would be a cool way to incoporate smugglers they could "smuggle" this illegal(?) part to use in this way i like it alot

In reading the scour forums, I think the entire mask scent issue is moot. The Devs are trying to plug the hole of masking and driving all over Dath and creation to get scout xp. Rumor says no maskscent at all while mounted. Mount and it breaks. Which is good to stop the stupid grinders, after all, it is an exploit.
Personally, who cares? I get aggro'd by the mob I want to hunt, I drive out of range, combat ceases, I remask and walk in.
Not a big issue, only those getting xp care about this, and it is an exploit according ot the Devs.
