Thread: Ranger Terminals, Another Monkey Maker.
What do you guys think about having a Ranger Mission Terminal. It could be located on the outskirts of cities. Doctors, armorsmiths, etc. could go to the terminal and enter a request for a certain amount of hide, meat, or bone or xcpu.
Whoever places the order must make the payment to the terminal when they make the order. Rangers could then go to the terminals and have a choice of orders. You would need to have Novice Ranger to access the missions.
Downsides to this may be that the players placing the orders can name their quantity and price. I don't think this would be a problem as if the cpu is too low or the quantity requested is too high the mission will not be taken. They will have to learn what an appropriate price and quantity is for us Rangers.
Another downside is that currently there are too few of us for this to work very well. However, with the upcoming combat balance and our certification for Mandolorian Armor I think we can expect at least a small influx of new blood to our profession.
This is just something that popped into my head while looking at other people's monkey making ideas.
What do you guys think?
It'd be like a monkey depository. People would put monkeys in and they'd be forgotten about cause no Rangers are around to exchange for them. Actually, that could be a really really good monkey sink come to think of it. People have way too many monkeys nowadays.
Poor monkeys.

Not too bad an idea. It could use a little polishing up, though.
I don't think it's a bad idea, just one that wouldn't work too well.
Doctor "orders" 25k of Talusian avian for 1 million credits - as Talusian avian is decent at the time. Y'all realize it would take a small army to get 25k of avian on Talus in the time period of the usual meat shifts? 25 units off a rasp is good, and gulginaws are not all that rare, but not that common - and 45 is standard for them.
That order would sit, as anyone with common sense would realize it could not be filled given time restraints.
And trust me, most Docs/CMs are like that. Some armorsmiths too - Talus wooley is/was good. Know what drops wooley on Talus - paralopes - 12 unit drops. One guy wanted 100k of the stuff. I fell out laffing. I figure at 12 units per animal - I woulda got 100k about next year, hunting 23/7/365 (server down time).
Anyhow, not a bad idea, just not realistic as the classes using it are - well - not educated mainly.

I think it could work. I like the idea of including our Scout brethren on the terms, but only if they get the smaller contracts (I am not sure what the cutoff should be). As far as stack size, maybe there could be a limit for the stack size. Cap it at 10k and a Doc will have to make 3 contrack to get a 25k order filled. That way if you don't want to fill the whole 25k order, you don't have to. If it is set up such that you can only complete the mision by putting the resource on the terminal, that could keep greifing from happeneing.
If the devs ever get player bounties working, I think this system could build of of that and the bazaar coding. I liek this idea, and would like to take it to the devs. Let polish it up. ![]()

I don't. 4k is my standard.
