This idea is one I have been kicking around for awhile. Maybe the idea will work for someone alittle more motivated...lol

How about creating Adventure or Grinding packs for professions?

Get a backpack from your local Tailor and fill it with all of the harvested resources needed to grind out a certain number of boxes in a given profession. For example..

You know that an aspiring Master Artisan needs 200k of leathery hide in order to grind out 3 boxes of crafting xp creating widgets. Well, harvest those 200k of leathery hide and drop it in a backpack labeled "Artisan Grinding Pack - Widgets Level 3"

To make the prospect more interesting, you could also procure the surveyed resources also nessesary for the schematic and have a 1 stop shop in the pack. Sell it for what you think it is worth. Alot of people would probably be interested in buying these packs as it frees them from the need to find the items themselves piecemeal.

For a guild with the proper profession mix, you could expand upon this idea to include the combat professions. Imagine, a Rifleman pack... In it would be a suit of average Ubese and 1 of all the rifles. Throw in a crate of brandy and canapes along with a crate of ranged powerups and you have the perfect grind pack for the aspiring Rifleman that can be sold for a couple hundred K easily.

Need to grind out Doctor? How about the Doctor grinding pack... Abackpack with a crate of all the nessesary medical packs needed to get you on your way through the Doctor Tree.

Ranger you say?? How about a crate of each of the camps, a crate of the best traps used for gaining trapping xp, and a harvesting droid? Throw in a crate of batteries and veghash and you have the ideal tool to help that fledgling Ranger on their way. You could even throw in the resources needed to create camo kits for the different planets for those that like the experience of crafting for their xp.

I believe that this idea could sell like a crate of 4000 pt buff packs.lol What do you think?

I know on Wanderhome, at the beginning of hologrinding, some people were selling these packs. I haven't heard much about them lately, but you never know .

Basically, with the proper research you could offer a combo pack for any profession and make a tidy profit while doing it. In the right packs, you find a good use for your harvested resources and start using some of those piled up low end stacks that always end up in the back of your house somewhere. There is a need for the low-end stuff if simply to grind through the lower end schem's with. For the High-End harvest, you could create Elite Crafting Packs. Find out what the Doc needs to create Buff Packs and create a backpack with all the resources nessesary of the highest qaulity you can find. You offer that on a vendor and you will sell them faster than you can produce them....

I can tell you what docs need from rangers.

HERBIVOIRE MEAT lots of it

AVAIN meat large amounts.

I have a second account thats master doc and i cant get enough of either to last more than a week.

The stats that matter most to docs are OQ and PE (66% oq and 33%pe on all medical crafting), The DR on the avain helps to increase the DURATION of the buffs. Most docs will buy the above in stacks from 1k to 100k, but its a good idea not to hit them with high prices if you want someone to always be there to buff you.

Cohen,

Let me just say that considering how much a doctor makes off of the buff packs they sell, I think some of the recent prices for good avian meat are not really all that bad. One thing most people don't seem to take into account is that most of the great stat resource animals are ones that give small amounts of their precious goods. That means for a dedicated harvester fullfilling orders, there will be alot of time invested in the field gathering the amounts that are being looked for. This does not include the price of tickets, buffs, and the cost to weapons and armor in condition if you are hunting on one of the advanced planets. Not to mention, any food or beverages that you might use to help your hunt along.

There is a big difference compared to simply putting down a harvester and then coming back and collecting the resources. I believe the SWG community does not give the Scout/Ranger profession as much credit as it deserves. We keep the wheels of industry rolling. If the crafters where compelled to go out and kill their own creatures to be able to make their overpriced mechandise, then you would see a significant drop in the amount of goods that are available for purchasing.

A case could be made that those combat professions that require scout in their line to master could take up the slack in the harvesting of creature resources, but at the same time, those same combat professions are more concerned with acquiring wealth through loot and high-end destroy missions. Also, you must acknowledge that most ofthe people that gravitate to those professions do not display the patience required to gather the resources in the amounts that are being called for by most crafters ortherwise they would have chosen to master either scout or ranger. We provide a very valuabe service, but often are not given the credit or respect that our services should afford us.

I have stated this once already in another post, but it is my firm belief that the conception of the scout/ranger class as a combat support profession is incorrect. We are THE PVE combat professions. In fact, we are the only real PVE combat professions. Given our skill sets and abilities one could not support an argument to the contrary. Our professions require that we kill and kill on a continual bases. We are aproactively aggressive profession. With the possible exception of the camping skills, most all of our skill sets are for engaging in combat with a planets fauna. Rescue comes to mind as another example of how our skill sets are geared towards combat. With rescue the object is to attract an aggro'ed creature or npc away from it's intended target and place the combat event uponour own shoulders allowing the intended victim time to either heal or run away. This is a defining role of a combat professional.
