My template has been Master Ranger / Master Swordsman / Brawler 1-4-4-1 for a long time and I think I want to change it. With the FS skill tress I've realized I'm going to have to surrender my brawler skills soon anyway, so I though I might try a little CH again. I rememeber I really enjoyed CH, especially for the RP atmosphere. Problem is with Ranger / Master Combat Profession you only get 18 SP to spend. For all you Ranger / Ch's out there, which 2 boxes are thebest to get? One of my best buds is a Master CH so I won't have to worry about taming or anything like that.

0/3/0/0 this way you can get the most stored pets. Use creature taming clothing to make up for the wild taming part of column one. Right now im a 0/0/0/3 and im going to switch back to 0/3/0/0 because i have 20 pets and dont want to lose to many.
Being able to have a pet and droid out at the same time (and a faction pet to if overt) makes CH worth it for me. I dont want a speeder when Im just hunting and im sorry JB but i can't ride the droids yet.

Master Ranger plus Combat prof. only leaves enough for 2 boxes so I can't do 0-3-0-0.
Maybe I should have been more specific, Which two boxes will let me control the highest level of pet?
Will I be able to control a CL 20 pet for example?

actually 0300 is possible if you drop the six boxes from brawler. 18sp left. That means ch novice box (6sp); 1st box of second branch (5sp); 2nd box of second branch (4sp); 3rd box of second branch (3sp). 6+5+4+3 = 18.
Of course now that i think about it you mentioned FRS skills so... nevermind.

Ha, so much formy math!
So if I did go 0-3-0-0 what is the highestCL pet I could control? If I had a friend train it would I be able to use the special attacks etc...
Sorry I don't mean tobe lazy, I have no clue how the CH +level of pets thing works after they nerfed it.

this is how CH levels go:
No CH= CL 10
Novoce +2
Tier 1 +2
Tier 2 +2
Tier 3 +3
Tier 4 +5
Master +10

Best CL19 i have seen (not using bugged DNA) probaly going on 3 months ago was 10k/6k/4k with kin 60 and a ranged attack. That Cu'Pa and i traveled all over Tat.

Yanno, use droids and you can use all kinds of extra points for FS.

Yea I know, I just kinda miss having a pet around sometimes. Something about hunting with an animal companion made me feel much more rangerish, I guess.
But thats the fight us Rangers deal with all the time huh, utility vs. sentiment...
