I get such a bitter feeling when I know that SOE has been dedication so many resources to get EQII done and out to market.

Where does that leave SWG?

If Rangers in EQ II "own" Rangers in SWG in terms of vision and functionality I will puke.

Hope......

A litte bitter?

Ok lets take a second to look over what you said. We are Rangers in a Star Wars world. Not exactly what most people think of when they think Star Wars. They think of lightsabers, smugglers, spaceships, and bunned haircuts. That we exist in this game at all is an interesting sidenote really. Sure there are rangers in the star wars universe after all the Antarian Rangers exist right? But when i started this game i was using a sword, wearing bone armor, covered in mud to mask my scent hunting creatures. This was way more EQ then SW.

So EQ2's rangers will pwn SWG's Rangers from a programming standpoint. But this is as it should be with no regrets. Thats what EQs timeline is all about. But Star Wars rangers will get their loving probaly late winter/early spring and maybe even some short term benefits. But we arent Rangers because of our skill set. If we were we would have left a long time ago. We are Rangers by choice and lately becoming on of the patented flavors of the month.

and God help us if Ranger becomes FotM...our profits will drop cause everyone will be harvesting what we do, everyone will be hunting with buffs and armor claiming to be a Ranger. Can't wait for that day actually. Come across some dude who is buffed and armored, with his group of 19 people who are "hunting". Stroll by (on foot or mount) and just laugh at the person trying to imitate what we do

Ranger did become FoTM remember? And the reasoning was, and this is good, "I wanted to try the most rare profession in game"

I was a EQ Ranger for 3.5 years and for 3 of those we sucked big time when compared to most other classes.

This was primarily down to the Ranger being a hybrid of the Druid and the Warrior. In order to ensure that people played Druids and Warriors they made Rangers inferior. I know nothing about the class system in EQ2 but if it is like EQ1 then I don't think you will have too much to worry about.

Well I understand what you are saying and why, and agree. But I'm planning on playing an EQ2 Ranger, but they will likely be more "owning" then SWG rangers. But that's fantacy for you. I hope they are for sure.
