After just one more box of Survival I'll be mastering Scout and picking up Novice Ranger.
I plan to master it all, and keep it.
I was speaking to a MR the other night and he told me he can harvest 150K of resources in one buff session.
Is this possible alone, or could he have meant "with friends?"
I have a 107 harvesting droid; will MR help me harvest more than I can already?
Thnx 4 the input,
Balor

Hmmmm, three and a half hours buff, it can be done... if you are killing Kimo's and/or Rancors...(And I'm sure he's not killing Kimo's alone.. It would take too long).

MR will help you harvest more, but I wouldn't say that you would be collecting such vast quantities as you have been told.... It's enough to collect the resources that are in demand, 20-50K and you'll be doing great.
Power huntingcan become alittle boring.... So diversify. Hunt one day, do some recon the other, and then do some tracking... Basically, there's more than just hunting.
Recon is one of the things that keeps me occupied.... I travel everywhere and note down where I find pockets of creatures. That in turn helps you hunt on later dates..... whilst everybody is scrambling to find their targets, you'll know where to look
By the way: Welcome Balor

Yeah, I don't need more storage on my house, I need an extra datapad...

if you REALLY need an extra datapad for WP's... here's a workaround for now:
pile all the planetary WP's into a mail. send it to yourself. better yet, sort them by category.
take a deep breath... and delete all your WP's.
want a WP? check your mail, and save all attachments.
it isn't perfect... but if it works now, you can clean up those WP's, and keep room for more.

DOH
See, that was too simple and elegant a solution for me to think of.
cheers Zaw

Hmmm, couldn't you just use the notepad feature for excess WP's? I know its not really "star wars-y" to resort to such a pen and paper method, but any port in a storm
As regards picking up 150k resources in a 3 hour buff session. On Dathomir, yeah, I can see how thats possible if you're picking up bones. But on somewhere like Rori, where I was last night, I can't really see it. Amittedly, I was unbuffed and forgot to eat my veghash (as per usual), but I only managed to get 2.5k of bones and 55 eggs in half hour. I must be doing something wrong I guess

Heh, you're right, I do prefer having fun to endlessly chasing after the next great spawn. I've been hunting for a BE over the last week, which has actually been good fun. Wooly hide on Endor one day, Corellian Meat the next, Dant wooly on Saturday. Sunday was rori bones, which I'll be finishing up for him tonight. I also went and got some Talus Herb meat for a guild Dr on Saturday, I could have gone to lok, but the snakes were everywhere
I'll take a break from hunting for a couple of days after that, finish the Imp theme park, get my Jabba faction down, then do Jabbas themepark, maybe even conquer my fear of snakes on Lok and Yavin (yeah right

Getting Master Ranger for the harvesting increase to be perfectly honest is not worth it.
In order to get the most resources, only go up the tracking skill tree, and get an enhanced combat template, ie: master pike/ tka 4004/ ranger 0040.
You will stay alive more, hit harder, and kill faster. In this game, speed is paramount to successful powerharvesting. the bonus at master ranger is not worth the extra3 lines and tons of skill points.
Those who are master rangers do so because they love the profession that it is, and the profession that it someday will be. Master Ranger is useful for so many things, but not harvesting,
Veghash+ranger 0040+2 complementary combat professions > MR + 1 combat profession in terms of harvesting.
Personally, i am slowly going up the scout and ranger trees again, not for the harvesting, but for the love of being a ranger.
In other words, the quantitative about rangers are not that great, but the qualitatives about rangers cannot be beat.

Thnx everyone for such great replies!
I was just curious about the harvesting details, i'm going ranger regardless.
I spend most of my time in the wilderness surveying and such, so I think it'll be a great compliment.
Thanks,
Balor
