What's up with the Ancient Krayt strolling through Bestine Saturday night? I'm on my way to the cantina for a cold one (this is immediately after the Dragon Valley incident) when I round the corner and there were all these people shooting at a Krayt that must have had the same idea. I digress.
A friend of mine, a Wookiee Bounty Hunter, got it into his head to get buffed and go Krayt hunting. He recruitered me to track for him. I mentioned that Novice Ranger and Tracking I might be a good investment for him, but he growled and we all know it's a bad idea to upset a Wookiee.
So, we're on our way to the Krayt Graveyard, lovely place, when I spot a red dot on the radar. Curious, I guided us toward it and, lo, a Krayt had come looking for us. Well, maybe it was the two Jedi with double lightsabers, but I swear it looked at the Wookiee and smiled hungrily.
Long story short, we shot, the Jedi sabered, someone sent me a /tell reminding me that I was not going to out-damage two Jedi (really?!), and the thing died. Huzzah for our side!
OK, so now we're back on track (sic) and I lead my friend to the Ancient Canyon Krayt I had sniffed out. He says, "It looks like someone beat us to it. It looks dead."
"No," I reply, "it's sleeping."
I glance once more at my friend's HAM display to insure that his mask scent is still working. It is. He kneels, but does not fire, clearly hoping that someone will arrive to help kill the beast. I back off a bit and go prone trying to think of a good plan. An areatrack tells me that a group of PCs is just over the next rise in the valley. We have a solution!
Then the Krayt stirs. It seems to have trouble getting up (it's old, after all), but finally does and turns about, sniffing the air. I know we've been made when my Wookie companion opens up with his lightning gun. Sighing with resignation, I retreat to 64m and open with my rifle, telling my friend to follow me over the hill. He's buffed, I'm not, and a krayt would have no trouble with me if I let it get close. I have Novice Squad Leader with group terrain negotiation, if only I can get the hairball to leave off.
I watch him go down and then the beast eyes me greedily, so it's over the hill and right into the warm embrace of about thirty PCs with blasters and lightsabers. I wonder briefly why these jokers are out hunting without a Ranger before opening fire from long range on the now-busy lizard.
I hear my Wookiee companion's wounds are healing nicely. His visitors have all wished him a speedy recovery.

it's also not a good idea to forget that second "e". Wookiees have been known to rip arms out of sockets over that.

They really did go overboard on this Krayt spawning issue.
Last night, in a 3 hour buff session, myself and 2 guildies were hunting krayts. we killed 5 or 6 Canyon Krayt Dragons andat least 10 Juveniles.
We also spotted, and did not attack 2 or 3 Ancient Krayt Dragons. Our tank said that he can't tank an ancient solo, and since we only had him as a melee fighter, we left those dragons sleep.
We did end up with 2 pearls, 4 scales, about 20-25 tissues, and about 7k-8k Carn meat for our guild's chef to grind XP with.

Dont you see the error of what your saying?! Your tank said he cant solo one of the toughest creatures in game! This is a massive MULTIPLAYER game. This is not a solo game with online capabilities. That people have been able to go this long and still solo NS Elders and Krayts says a lot of where the game is now.
