Idea...

Since Ranger doesn't get it's own combat skills but we are forced to learn SOME combat profession anyway.

Why not just get us an over all + for any combat profession we adopt? This keeps the profession as it is (which isn't the best but it works for most of us) and allows us to not suffer so much with the combat stackers out there. Image master ranger with a +50to rifles at mater rifleman as well.

just and idea.

right, as fodder said,

this idea has been brought up before, however... any new light you can bring to the table would be good. We have a ranged accuracy bonus (not that we can tell) a melee accuracy bonus would be nice if it worked... what specifically would you add to the ranger skillset to have it complement a weapon choice?

the to hit bonus sucks, to my knowledge

Its ranged only, and only works with auto attack, not specials.

Ah you just answered a question I was going to ask: Why do I hit things at point blank better on autofire that I do with point blank single?

Um is that by design? or is it a loose end? I think that falls firmly into piss and moan untill its fixed teritory. I'm not a programer by trade but I've done enough of the stuff to know that its just under the hood math, and shouldn't take more that a few hours of someones time to get to test center.
