I'm currently at 3234 Ranger and have been struggling getting good xp for the 3230 trees. Well tonight, I had to go out to Yavin to plant some harvs for a friend of mine and my xp shot up much faster.
Granted there is a more abundant concentration of creatures on Yavin so that helped, but do the last two rows of boxes actually determine which planet you should go to to get better xp? If that's the case, then I'm all over Yavin and Lok now, not to mention Dath.

You get xp from red cons and there creature levels. Yavin has the highest concentration of aggros of any planet even Dath. Yavin is the planet to fly around to max out scout not dath. Outside of Blacksuns your pretty much safe on Yavin of facing off against NPC's like Dath with Nightsisters.

There is a reason JBMat loves Endor. XP for scouting is much better on Endor, Yavin4 and Dath. Just have to be careful when getting it

I stand by what i've said before. I love Yavin for hunting and just love to explore there.

another fun trick is to get ahold of, say, some camo kits for Dathomir (maybe a nice Master Ranger will make you some since you can apply 'em already, just can't make 'em), and go to the outpost, and camo everyone coming and going. Then sit there for a little while, and watch the XP roll in. Especially with everyone going to and from the village, I've found over the past couple of days that doing this to 10-15 people then camoing myself prior to heading to the Village myself, by the time I get there I've racked up 20-30K scouting XP. Lots of red mobs, super high traffic area with people constanting hunting or traveling back and forth to the village. Fun times!
(and yes, I payed attention to a previous thread and boldly... ahem... "borrowed" the idea from a post JB made. Just reiterating how well it works here.

Camo seems to only work on Rebel and Imperial NPCs. I know I can sneak past Stormies while camoed, but not meatlumps (they just ignore the camo). We were told by the devs that camo was never supposed to work on NPCs despite the in game description and the fact that is still worked on some.

tsk. stuff and nonsense, young calculicous. Never trust a dev faced with something that's broke and will need a lot of fixing.,You know they'll go for the shortest route to an 'explanation' that encompasses current behaviours and removes the need to do any expensive coding.
As for cammo and NPC's, jawa, Tusken, alkhara bandits, Vals, drall, corsairs, Trade Feds, etc, all get the big 'ignore the daft guy with twigs' look when I cammo up.
However, I can walk into a Jabba camp and the THUG npc will go for me regardless of faction, cammo, whatever. Meatlumps are thugs, aren't they? Maybe they've got some sort of lunch-money detector?

So you are saying that if we give away all our money our camo will work 100%?
Anyone who wants to test this feel free to tip me all your cash - I'll keep it safe for you. /grin
I can attest that camo works on Stormtroopers at least. My Image Designer was overt on Lok (don't ask) and was able to walk through squads of troopers no problem. Burst running into them full tilt I did get noticed however, and my camo didn't break, so I would still call this "buggy."

Well if you use your camo kits (which I do) then yes it makes a difference what planets you go to, because if you camo is working it should work better then your maskscent and thus not break as often and give you higher rewards for the kind of animals you are sneaking by, the kinds of animals you are harvesting bigger more dangerous usually give much more XP for harvesting, so all these things can help. If your traps work they should give higher XP on larger more dangerous creatures for each successful attempt. So Lok, Yavin, Endor, Dath and to a little less degree Dan, give me tons of great XP and hunting, certainly more so then most that I can do on the other planets. And the current patches should make your yield and XP go up if you are grouped.

One additional note regarding he XP from mastscent and camo. The XP awarded for sneaking past a creature while under maskscent is 3x the creatures level -- for camo the multiplier is 2x. So camo is "perhaps" stronger than maskscent and does work against some NPC, but it does give 1/3 less XP per event. However, knowing how the multiplier works allows you a simple way of knowing what level that untargeted red dot you just walked past happens to be. Hint: Any time you see that you have received 300+ xp for using maskscent, just run.
As an aside, I thought you have to be close to the another player that you had camo'ed inorder to receive the xp. Is this not true?

Don't know if there is a "closeness" requirement or not. I just got some GREAT resources on Dath the other night, stood at the public crafting station making a bunch of 15 or 17 charge camo kits, then pretty liberally started throwing camo on ever single player that I could target and F12 (conceal hotkey) fast enough - I was even doing it from a fair distance away (maybe on the order of 20-30m from the person I was "carefully applying camo to").
Then I was standing there chatting with some friends for a while in guildchat, and the XP just came pouring in. Given the mix of folks coming in and buffing and getting missions, buffing and saying "I'm off to the village", etc - I'm guessing it was about a 50/50 split between people just hunting near the outpost and heading off the 4900m or so to the village.
As to whether or not it works on NPCs, I've seen very mixed results. The other night I camo'd myself and pretty much wandered around the village doing the healer quest without any armor on for about 30-40 minutes, and didn't get a single agro. I did have my trusy T21 equiped "just in case" and was buffed (hey, not completely stupid) but wanted to get the benefit of my camo and medic bio-mod clothes for healing. Then yesterday I was running around the village doing the same but in comp armor since it was a smaller group I was in and I was for whatever reason getting agro'd more often - maybe 4 or 5 times, some breaking camo and some not. So I don't know if it's working, half-working, broken or what. But that first night I think everyone was in awe of the crazy fool running around without a single piece of armor on and the Master Ranger tag over his head just healing people like a madman. It was either that or my shouting "Fear my Rangery Goodness you THUGS!" to all the sith, and quoting lines from crazy movies.
