I have searched over and over again the Hero of Tatooine marks for other players in the past. I would say that I have found the little piggy, pirates and moisture farmer around a dozen times and to be brutally honest, at a certain point in timeI became sick of the quests.
A couple of days ago me and my buddy decided wecan be heroes - even if just for one day. We both had visited the hermit already on one of our trips to squill caves earlier so off we go to hunt the marks. First came the boar right near thebeginning ofour searchsession and we went checking if there was a moisture farmer to be helped somewhere. No luck, my buddy went after the smugglers and found them and after a bit of pondering the quest was over for him. I headed home and my buddy stayed and went after the pirates, which he found within 15minutes and we both logged happy.
Yesterday I went back solo and found the smugglers from the second place I checked. After that almost immediately the pirates were in my sights and the hunt for the farmer could continue. An hour later I was heading toward the cave and after camoing I tiptoed my way through to the bottom and back. There were a couple of guys emptying the cave so I only got 2 aggros on my way up. Unfortunately the wife and the kid despawned right at the door.
Buffs were ending so I retreated and took a breather and came back an hour later. This time there was a small que and after a bit of waiting I again snook my way past the baddies to the crate and then off to the prison of the family. This time I got aggroed once on my way down and3 times on my way out, but the cave was a bit crowded. The badge was mine.
Squill caves were a breeze with camo and lots of grinders. Three kills going down and I was pronounced a hero, three kills going back and I was through.
The whole ordeal took 3 buff periods and next to no fighting. The marks were found easily and although I used area track out of habit, I knew exactly where to look and not one mark was found through tracking.
To me the lesson learned was that nothing beats experience and nothing beats a good camo. The longer I have been aMaster Ranger the less I have needed area track and maps or waypoints, mayhap that is the essence of being one of the few.And with camo you can really pick your fights.
I am still but learning, only a tad over 6 months MR.
Tomorrow we go get the farmer for my friend.
