Hi, I am new to the Ranger profession and before I get carried away up the skill tree, I have a few questions for Area Track: Players. Does it work? If so, how does it work? One of the main reasons I picked upRanger is to track down faction enemies, because I have prepared a sort of hit list. Thanks alot for your help.

At tracking IV you can track Players If they are within 500m of you, and there are less than 45-50 other players around.
The areatrack is limited to 45-50 targets, With Distance and heading (Compass heading).
It works great outside of town, but in Theed forget about it.
when you either type /areatrack or use a hotkey for it you get a listing asking for what to track, Players, People or Animals . You click on the one you wanna track and hit ok
Ranger Tracking Emote Occurs and you get either a pop up window listing or a can't find tracks in this area.
Its not perfect but works well
Enjoy

Yep, what Glaza-x said is true. I use to work out of Anchorhead. When I logged in, I would do a "/who imperial" to findout which imperials were in the area. Then do a /areatrack to find out if they were within 500m. /who is available to all players.

If you want a small guide to tracking, I wrote one up not too long back. Check out http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=ranger&message.id=21795. Hope it helps.
