Thread: Rancors are my new best friend

I was on Dathomir a few days ago trying to restock my hide and bone supply after getting frontiering 3 and trapping 1 and 2.I found to my dismay that my mission was surrounded by a rancor family.I was about to abort mission and head back to the outpost when I noticed that the rancors were attacking the animals I had come to kill.On a whim I decided to see if my my traps would work since I couldnt remember ifI needed traps 2 or 3 to hit a creature of that size.I was very happy to see that most of them stuck and with 3 traps left I got the message saying I had qualified for trapping 3.One rancor family,a bull and two regulars,got me 40k worth of trapping xp and used up all the traps I had on me.A double bonus for me.I am tempted to try it again for trapping 4 but the area disease I got from the bull rancor took a lot of ointment to clear up 
Anyway, I just wanted to say it again,any rangers with trapping 2 go to Dath and find rancors being nasty to something other than you and throw every trap you can at them until you level or the rancor gets tired of it and eats your face.Its worth it and it stops hurting after the third bite or so.

If you use your traps in the right order (I forget what it is now, I think stink then noise then any other trap) you can use every trap you have. I was at (scout) trapping 3 when i started on Dath.

Just use glow juice.
It's easy to make, lands just about every time, you can use it over and over and over again in the same fight, it adds to your bonus to hit, and on rancors it gets you 1500 trapping exp per trap. You can get enough exp to master trapping on one rancor, if you're good enough. I mastered trapping in about 20 minutes or so, if that.

Silly me, I thought you all knew this...
Best traps leveling is the Rancor. If you are too low level to make them stick, do Pikets. The later many folks use to gind up a combat class, but you can get parties going for both pretty regularly. Just leave theNightsisters alone please 
(unless you are prepared for them).

I feel dumb replying to my own post when I am not getting argued with,but I just wanted to say that I leveled 1 and 2 with pikets just to be sure I could hit a rancor for 3 and 4.Its long ride back from the cloners,especially when you sent yourself there by attacking what you shouldnt have ,so I like to really sure about something before I try it.That was the main reason I didnt just go straight to Dathomir, but instead spent all of two lairs on Dantooine getting maxed on xp.AndI use glow wire traps just because......well, just because lol.Whatever works for you I guess.
