Hi!

Just an Idea tha came to me while siting in the bus yesterday.
If someone had this one before, shame on me for not being up to date.

As most of you know, there is little spawn away from the cities in the remote regions of a Planet. We had a good Corellian Avian Meat on Gorath a week or so ago, but i foud it somewhat hard to find these Carrion Spats, the only source of avian meat on Corellia AFAIK. I was unable to get them in Missions (maybe Im to skilles with my rifle?) and i spend hours running and tracking to find them. It was no Fun at all.

So what about decoys? A small device that lures certain creatures to the Ranger. This decoy could be created to lure specific creatures to the Rangers position. Carnivore and wild creatures could be attracted by Meat, Insects by some kind of pheromon attractant.
The Ranger could build these decoys from harvested or foraged ressources, set them up in an empty area, and the game generates one of these Spawns without a Lair somewehre around this decoy. The scucsess of luring the desired kind of creature could be depended on the Rangers trapping and hunting Skills.

I imgine these Decoy as some kind of mini-mission, without a reward in credit and a chance to fail, wich could drop a real scary monster on the Hunter or sth like that at a critical failure.

Hmmm sounds something half similar to either one of the new traps coming, or it was an idea of one of the traps to lure animals.

Main reason for this post however, was to let you know about Rasps. They're on Corellia and give avian aswell.. not much, but is another animal to look for.

Ok rasps... well I tend to ignore them, because if they don't come in large Numbers, they're hardly worth the effort to shoot at.

I dont know which new traps you mention, I did not remember any from the Update notes...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

Never ever never ignore rasps. They are evil incarnate, the Debbil Bobby, they are the Debbil. You must kill them whenever you see them, where ever you see them, make them dead. Dead Dead Dead.

Oh,and gulginaws, both normal and devil (they DB) also drop avian and can be found on Corellia also.

One of these days I will figure out why JB bears such a hatred for these rasps...

Yeah, the devs at one point tempted us with the "lure trap" which we have since added to the WIshlist and the Outdoorsman. Here's hoping.

We've been trying to lure the Devs into creating a lure-type trap, but so far, the ability seems to be broken...

There's a thread about why JB hates the rasps. It also explains about monkeys and kreetles. I have been on Yavin 4 this week generating a similar hatred for choku pups.

"A creature has detected you, despite your attempts at camouflage!"

"It seems that you are being stalked by a choku pup."

"You cannot Mask Scent right now."

"You cannot mask your scent while in combat."

Stupid bird-dog...

What actaully happened was that the Devs tried to lure us in with the idea of a lure trap. They're obviously very good at it, and might see it as a nerf if we were given a lure ability as well

Pithren, you're right! We've been lured in with the lure trap!

The Devs recieve 328 Trapping XP.
