You might think these are respectively Image Designer and Tailor issues, but tongue firmly in cheek or not, I suggest they are Ranger issues. I played a bald headed toon with a trim beard when I was a brawler/entertainer - a kinda rough and ready jazz man - but as I progressed through Scout I begain to wonder would I really be sitting in some camp in the wilderness shaving my head everyday, so when I hit Novice Ranger I grew my hair long (before surrendering my last shred of entertainer,) and ran to an Image Designer to ask for a big wooly beard. Not available! What the! I'm sure there are a lot of real trim Rangers out there, and God Bless Ya, but I can't be the only one who's RPG-ing Mountain Man a little.

With deep respect for the ladies in our profession, that might not have been your issue, but try the next one.

A Master Tailor I got to know made me some slick boots, cool camo pants, and a duster to die for, with dappled rusty coloration. I wear this outfit when looking for ap in the starports, 'cause it looks so dang Rangerish, and it seems to work real well as an identifier, so I'm not alone with my set of associations. I went back to the Tailor and asked if there was anything in the game that even slightly resembled a cowboy hat and she said no, but plenty of people ask. If you don't think I'm barking up the right tree, look in your latest Land's End-style catalogue and see what kind of hats are on the page next to the dusters.

Some of you are probably already saying, "If the Rangers get their cowboy hats, then the unarmed brawlers are going to want derbys, and the business men will want fedoras, and there'll be no end to it." OK, but the Teras Kasi Artists get their little bamboo hats from Okinawa, and how Outer Space is that?

I don't really expect this to create a surge on the forum, bringing beards and cowboy hats to the top of the Ranger Issues, but short of that, how about sharing this campfire chuckle with me?
